Caged By Nature

30+years old. Life is rough. Follow at your own risk. Who knows what will cause an enjoyable resonance in life. 18+I lean towards tame.

Cage Welcomes You~

This is the blog of Cage Carrion. A character that is used as a muse by her creator for the darker things in life. I tend to keep things very tame when it comes to sexual themes, however do be aware, that there may be a time when I come across something that I see as amazing, that I feel is worth the risk. as such this blog should be seen as 18+ In closing I will also put out there that you are free to ask Cage Questions! I would be overjoyed to see how she responds to everyone's queries, and it would allow her to grow as a character.

EDIT: Tags related to cage, to be updated overtime

continuing with the goth-ification of fairytale illustrations... this one is inspired by this: (Dugald Stewart Walker "The Peacock and the Wishing Fairy and Other Stories" 1921)

I am thinking of doing a piece this weekend of cage. I have collected many references of poses and clothing that I feel suit her feel. Perhaps it could not only use one of those, but I could also incorporate a backround with dead trees and mushrooms or something. I don't really know. So far my process in drawing an actual body, is to find a picture of a person that I want to see her replicate, loosely trace that pose and clothing shape on a sketch layer, wiggle it around a bit till the perorations are to my liking, and then go to the next layer actually fleshing it out and such. It bothers me though, that with plants and scenery, I need not trace at all to be satisfied with the piece. Building and plants come to me more naturally to an alarming degree. I can only assume that it may be because people, animals, and the like, in their shapes, exhibit a higher level of complexity. From the people who I expressed concern about this to said that it seemed fine as it could just be how I am learning. the worry that I simply keep doing it is my fear. The only thing I have ever heard about tracing in art is the drama it causes. I need to start doing studies of faces also, if I am able to grasp motivation.

can any mycologists help explain what's going on in this soy sauce bottle? i've done some lab work with fungi but i've never seen a mould tree before.

What a neat picture! I am definitely not a mycologist, but I have been lurking on the mycology subreddit for years now, so I think I may know what’s going on?

A lot of molds require a certain amount of what hobbyist call FAE (fresh air exchange) in order to actually fruit. Basically, you can think of it as cross ventilation. So my guess is that this fungus had sufficient air and nutrients to grow in the bottle, but not to fruit, so it grew straight up in the hopes of coming “above ground” to get the oxygen needed. Once it got to the neck, it probably had sufficient FAE and started the fruiting process.
