hey, sorry to toss this hyperspecific question into your ask box specifically, but i've been hunting for palestinian-lead cooking sources and thought i'd cast a net here. i'm not really celebrating a specific holiday this year for obvious reasons, but i wanted to try my hand at some yuletime palestinian dishes for my family or better yet occasional work potluck i might be invited to this time of year and was hoping to avoid regurgitated recipes from go-to american websites like food.com or whatever. i've found a few i've saved but i'd love to follow some palestinian cooks and bakers for future kitchen escapades as well if i can!
So there's a few cookbooks!! I would check out Falastin, by Sami Tamimi and Sara Wigley especially (click).
I stumbled on this recipe blog by a Syrian-Palestinian the other day that has a bunch of recipes of all types of food and desserts:
If I find any more, I'll be sure to add to this! If anyone has any suggestions, feel free to share.
I have a few resources!
There's a number of recipes here, including one for hashweh which the cook suggests you can serve at Christmas with a leg of lamb.
Palestine in a Dish has an archive of Christmas cookies and is generally a good source of recipes.
Almond & Fig is another Palestinian recipe blog which posted a series of Christmas recipes and memories from Bethlehem here.
And if you want to learn a bit more about Palestinian Christmas food, Middle East Eye did an article about it, although there aren't any recipes.
My absolute favorite Palestinian cookbook (and I collect them because my family is the worst at teaching recipes) is the gaza kitchen also here
