RWBY Dream Machine (for real this time)

…Now that this picture is finished, I’m realizing that I don’t know what I would even use it for. ^^; The composition is so ‘big’…it looks like an image for a double-page manga spread, or maybe a billboard…neither of which are things I need. Ah well, at least it’s pretty~

Anyway, I wanted to talk a little bit about how this project is going…’slowly’ is the best word for it. XD I don’t think I realized how much work goes into a rewrite, even a less-detailed analytical one like I’m doing.  Recently I watched Unicorn of War’s Winx Club Season 5 Rewrite, which is very close to the style I’m aiming for and really helped me to feel more confident in working on the script…which is already 5 pages long and will probably hit 6 pages before I’m through. God help me when I start recording it…

Anyway, that’s not even the most difficult part. What really wears me out is doing stuff like ^this: making assets, both visuals and music things, for people to actually be entertained by during the video. It is a SLOG…I dunno, I just can’t stand it. Maybe it’s anxiety, maybe it’s…actually it’s probably all just anxiety and fear. ^^; I mentioned before that I’m not an illustrator, and this is why– now that all the rough designs are done, all that’s left is to make them into pretty pictures for the video, and I feel paralyzed…

Which is why I made this picture– I may not know what it’s for, but it does look good, and hopefully it’ll give me a source of hope as I continue to work. 

So in conclusion: with Christmas on the horizon and my other priorities, this is not gonna get done this year. But I hope you’ll look forward to seeing it in 2023…between this and Magical Friends I’m probably gonna be in editing hell ALL January long. ^^;;;;

my YiiK redesigns! Tried to make them look more 90s geared and made the stripes/plaid motif less severe on the eyes. Also gave them actual color schemes. i think this game had a lot of potential but Im not a fan of it nor do i despise it!

Redesign notes:  Alex no longer has the two brothers shirt, instead we get his university tee. Eyes being obscured is really important because it also tells us more about his character; blind to any other way outside of his own. 

vella now looks more like an alternative music fan instead of a poorly researched version of one. Shes got some kind of band tee on to show her interest and wears makeup+jewlery like shes part of the subculture. Michael and Rory have actual 90s hair. Michaels camera has decal+stickers of little aliens and stuff so we know what his camera is for in the first place (taking pics of cryptids)

“The Snow Queen is based on a story of the same name by Danish author Hans Christian Andersen, first published in 1844.

The story begins with a little man, who says he is ‘Old Dreamy’ (’Ole Lukøje’), telling the tale of the Snow Queen. He starts with two children, Kay and Gerda, planting roses together.

On a winter night following, Gerda’s grandmother tells the two children the legend of the Snow Queen. The Snow Queen’s proud and frowning face is seen in Gerda’s frosted window to Gerda’s exclamation, ‘It’s the Snow Queen!’ Kay jokes, ‘Let her come in here, and I’ll put her on a hot stove!’ This angers the Snow Queen, who is watching the children from her mirror, which she smashes with her scepter, telling the ice splinters of the shattered mirror to go into the eyes and hearts of those who have offended her. Back at Gerda’s home the window bursts open, letting in ice splinters that get into Kay’s eyes and heart. His personality changes: he is hostile toward Gerda. The next day, Kay ties his sled to the sleigh of the Snow Queen, which has suddenly appeared.

Gerda goes out to look for Kay. She faces many adventures; a sorceress attempts to steal her memories; she painstakingly finds a boy who turns out not to be Kay; she’s captured by thieves; and whisked far to the North to save Kay.

In 1959, the film was dubbed into English and released by Universal Pictures. This version is introduced by a six-minute live-action Christmas prologue featuring TV personality Art Linkletter. The American version also contained an entirely rewritten musical score and had three new songs in English, two of which replaced the Russian songs.

Hayao Miyazaki has stated that this film is one of his inspirations to work in animation. When he started his career, Miyazaki had a rough start and was thinking of leaving animation already. When he saw The Snow Queen, he admired it and continued working in anime. In September 2007, it was announced that Studio Ghibli will be distributing this film through their Ghibli Museum Library label, and it was released in December 2007 (in the original Russian audio with Japanese subtitles).”

about raven and ozpin

  • Back in Vol 2 Ozpin approved of sending RWBY on that mission despite it being far above their skill level. Even though he appears to be the wise mentor believing in his students they’re badly outmatched and only luck and Raven showing up to save Yang keeps them all getting out alive. Except Ozpin clearly knew about Ruby’s eyes which required a trauma (the death of a friend) to finally activate. And he sent them into a situation where they would clearly be in serious danger (more so than usual). he was hoping 1 of them would die or her own life would be pushed to activate them early? if Raven didn’t show up? Neo would have killed Yang, and Ruby would have ended up clutching her beloved sisters corpse Which definitely would have turned on her eyes Raven had just shown up to prevent the latter from happening?

Rwby volume four predictions

RUBY: 

If you haven’t seen volume three stop here. You have been warned.

Summer was the winter maiden. As Qrow explained, silver eyes are an extremely rare trait. If so, then why did the trait get passed down to Ruby instead of her taking her father’s eye color? You see, the seasons have been around for a long time. So have the maidens. If the trait is extremely rare, then im assuming it only belongs to one of the maidens. That would explain why ruby has silver eyes. 

It has already been said that the power gets passed down to the woman who was last in the maiden’s mind, but if maiden means virgin, was the power given to Ruby at birth? Assuming it wasn’t, when Summer died she would probably be thinking of Ruby when shes about to die. What would Ruby do without her, and what if she decides to avenge her mothers death? If this is the case, the power of the winter maiden would be passed down to Ruby when her mother is dead.

On a side note, Ruby was the only one who had a season attached to her trailer. Which was winter. And her mothers grave was there, why?

THE LAST ROSE OF SUMMER:

Summer Rose’s grave says ‘This kindly i scatter’. After looking up the phrase i was led to a poem, the last rose of summer. It explains the last moments of a rose. Scattering, falling away. Just like a certain red haired huntress with green eyes???? I’m sorry.

It has a line towards the end that says 'And the gems drop away’. Ruby is a gem stone. Episode 12 volume 3: 'And when you turn to your smaller soul, just know, that you send her to the same pitiful demise.’ Now back to where it all started, volume one trailer. 'Rather, sometimes victory is in the smaller things you’ve long forgotten. A smaller more honest soul’ After this is said, the shot changes to when Ruby met Ozpin. Ruby is the smaller soul, and will die the same way her mother did, or avenge her mother and save the world from the wrath of Salem.

Yellow trailer:

In the trailer for Yang, she shows Junior a picture that looks like Blake, not Raven as we originally suspected. 

Yang and Raven have the same shaped eyes, because she is her daughter. But, Raven and Adam both have a red sword. Yang and Adam both have the hair glowy super saiyan thingy. We haven’t seen Adam’s eyes yet, but the similarities are no coincidence. If they are brother and sister, Yang might be looking for Blake to lead her to her brother.

i really love the idea of ruby’s eyes actually meaning she unknowingly inherited the winter maiden powers from her mother. i think it would’ve tidied up the lore a bit if it were to replace the silver eyes altogether

so this was an instance of listening to music on one tab and watching a video on another and both almost perfectly syncing up with each other (with only very minor edits in my recreation here of this cosmic event). let’s see if the copyright gods come after me for this
