And in that world it’s no surprise that Kesha’s freedom was denied. That her psychological and sexual safety were reduced to nothing. That she’s been forced to produce six more albums with her abuser. That she’s been forced to remain the creative property of the man who drugged and raped her. Because in this world our courts and culture still have a hard enough time believing women’s accusations of sexual assault even in the most clear-cut of circumstances. And when a woman as powerful and high status as Kesha can’t win, the rest of us stand even less of a chance. 

I’m so sick of the misconception of her being of high status to begin with. We’re fucking human beings that get fucked over by contracts with a bunch of people making puppets of us (not by fucking choice but by pure promise of dream) she was a real girl, with a real dream, and trusted a real man, with a real scheme. Like people need to separate the “celebrity” from this. She’s a human who is being forced to work in an environment she doesn’t feel COMFORTABLE in. This is basically slave labor bro..what is she supposed to do? Puppeteer around while everyone around her questions her personal experience (which was probably already traumatic to begin with) and whether it happened or not..or whether it’s a legitimate enough reason why a woman can’t be granted safe haven from just feeling threatened. That’s some crazy shit man. Even if her accusations weren’t legitimate, what makes any other human deem when they can want to work for a company? How is it part of a law system that someone can’t quit one company and go to the next? Especially when experiencing sexual harassment. HOW THE FUCK does a court of MEN get to decide whether she experienced sexual assault..or psychological assault. Who is to deem that acceptable or not..this is insane.

#rp hopefully the world. I’m so confused. I’m so so so confused. I don’t understand how not everyone can see the worth of a human life. I don’t understand the need for violence, the lack of empathy, the senselessness; it’s happening in our own country, it’s happening in other countries, it’s happening everywhere and it is absolutely no one’s fucking RIGHT. It is NO ONE’s right to decide another cannot live. Not a single one of us has the right overpower and oppress for war, greed, money, power..selfishness. What the fuck is all that going to do? It’s disastrous when we put worth into those things. Every single time we do and have done it in the course of history since the beginning of time. It is disastrous, painful..we commemorate war in history classrooms as tragic mistakes..and we keep resorting to these things. When we glorify and act on those things and when we numb ourselves to the world around us with distractions, we loose sense of the reality of what it means to end a life. To, for a moment, believe that you have the right to take the breathe you do not breathe and that you did not give. We cannot end lives. We cannot take away a sister, brother, friend, child, parent, grandparent, neighbor, person walking down the street, fucking human being. Not from anyone or the world. We cannot displace them with violence and harm them. For what fucking reason?! Degrade them? For what reason? When are we all going to see reason? When are we not going to have to be babied into knowing what is right and wrong and stop apologizing only after the damage is done. No matter what or who you believe in, you have to at least know that all us our alive because our hearts beating in our chests. And we all process the world around us in a way that we’ve been blessed with. That we all feel loss and love in ways that build and destroy us. And that we are all human, all the same. We need to wake up. We need to wake up to each other. Now.

The fashion line also quit hiring girls with supermodel bodies in favor of those with natural-looking figures. If the models had any tattoos, beauty marks, or blemishes those would now remain visible, too. These changes helped Aerie’s sales jump 10 percent.

Of course that would help sales. Why advertise lingerie to men when women will be the ones wearing it? Men might like what they see but when women realize that they will look good in the product and that is going to make them more likely to buy them.
