She/her, uuuuuuuh yeah

If something is blown to smithereens, how big is each "smithereen"?

is there a set size, or is it percentage?

does it have to be completely unrecognizable as a part of the original object?

if there are more intact parts, say half of it is fine but the other 50% is absolutely obliterated, could the smaller bits still be classified as smithereens?

it is defined as "small fragment", but at what point do fragments stop being small enough to classify as smithereens?

Personally I'd draw the line at one gram. If it's bigger than that, it's not a smithereen, it's a bit. Much larger than that, it'd probably be a chunk instead.

If the object is small enough to not be reasonably identifyable as the original object its a smithereen imo

so "incubus" means someone who lies on top of something, and "succubus" means someone who lies underneath something, and the former also turns up in the word "incubate", which means to lie on top of an egg. To ensure closure we could therefore posit an analogous term "succubate", which would be something like this:

he is succubating.
