Workout Terminology

  • Superset: two exercises back to back
  • S1: 10 x push up + 10 x pull up + rest
  • Compound: exercise that targets more than one muscle group 
  • Squat, deadlift, pull up, overhead press, etc.
  • Isolation: exercise that targets one muscle group 
  • Bicep curl, tricep kickback, calf raise
  • AMRAP: “as many reps as possible” for a given exercise
  • AMRAP push up + AMRAP pull up
