in 1971 businessman ron morehead and journalist al berry went hunting and camping deep in the sierra nevada mountains. they had recording equipment and recorded the noises they heard at night

the loudest voices are ron and al of course, but in the distance you can hear a really strange mix of animalistic calls and human-like language in a very deep and incredibly loud voice. the men start mimicking the sounds and "words" they hear and attempting to communicate with the distant voices. at some points you can almost hear the distant voice laughing at ron or al's attempts to copy them

they went back to these mountains and left microphones outside the hunting shelter they were staying in and picked up even more really strange sounds:

i cant imagine a human being able to make these sounds convincingly unless they're like, an enormous guy with really bad phlegm and an expert actor. and no other wild native animal in california and nevada makes sounds like this. its fucking me up dude
