Things that I, a women’s bathroom user, am fine with:

  • trans women using the bathroom with me
  • trans men who feel uncomfortable or unsafe in the men’s room using the bathroom with me
  • nonbinary people who want to use the women’s room using the bathroom with me

Things that I am not fine with:

  • someone being super uncomfortable in my bathroom because a transphobic clueless lawmaker is forcing them to be there

Can you chime in on why Sam has not had any acting offers that materialized? Cait has done money monster and I just wonder if producers can't seem to find a role that suits him? That is, I am worried that he might be boxed into a certain character type. Gale Harold for instance had a hard time finding good roles after qaf but that is different too given the role he played. Just curious about why Cait is ahead in the acting game - gigs, nominations, etc. thanks in advance!

Sam said in his airport Q&A last month that he scored “two sweet parts” but the timing didn’t work out (presumably with Outlander filming).

There is no competition for nominations.  Cait deserved her nomination and also the men’s category is a little deeper than the women’s so his chances are a bit more challenging.  This year of the Emmy nominations are for men who have been shut out for much longer than Sam’s.

On endorsements do you think brand image is always the case opposed to money/striking while it's hot? Barbour is perfect bc of who Sam is even w/o OL ties. I feel like he's also perfect for Adidas/any sports brand. His image would fit both & they're opposite. Another ex going on image-MM's known a rugged cowboy suitet for a sport F150 yet he's the face of Lincoln. Normally focus is brand image but sometimes I think it's based on popularity. Do you think Sam's PR is more on image than popularity?

I had to read that twice to know you meant Matthew McConaughey for MM, lol.

I think he already has a sporty image so Adidas et.al. would be good if they want to reinforce that. But, I don’t think that’s her strategy.  And a good short and long term strategy is better than a quick money grab if you want longevity.

For a brand like Barbour, it doesn’t matter how popular you are if you don’t meet the image they want to convey for their brand.  So, image comes first.  Popularity doesn’t hurt, of course. But I don’t believe it supersedes image for high end brands.  Nor should it.

Sadly, some corporations sign celeb endorsement deals based primarily on popularity alone and live to regret it because by the time the campaign is created, executed and launched, that person isn’t popular anymore.

These questions are more up my professional alley than the If you were his publicist…
