I loved the Barbie movie and I will not allow some debate bro to ruin it for me by complaining about how it’s too “political”.

Tbh it was pretty surface level politics and the fact you think saying “women aren’t treated equal and it’s complicated sometimes” is a radical misandry message is a giant red flag that I don’t need to listen to your opinion. Have it I guess, I’m gonna go wear pink and then wait until the divas drop the critiques of the movie more up my alley.

Breezing past all shorts of passing discourse with trans people, I didn’t know one of the actress’s in Barbie is a trans woman and that shows how trying to enforce certain standards onto women is stupid because when I hear a woman with a lower voice I still hear a woman cause guess what she’s clearly presenting herself as a woman and she “passed” (once again, breezing past passing discourse I’m a trans femme that doesn’t pass nor thinks I have to to be valid blah blah blah).

Like all those gross stories of women being barred out of washrooms with many of them being cis women being assumed as trans women goes to show how you’re not fucking protecting women because if you try to oppress trans woman congrats you’re going to oppress women. It doesn’t matter if they’re cis or trans if they do not conform to the male gaze’s idea of what a woman is they will be barred.

So fuck that! So happy there’s a trans actress in the Barbie movie cause I was literally being like I wish there was a trans actress in a Barbie move and she is in it!!! It’s just that trans women are women so if I wasn’t told, it doesn’t matter because it’s the fucking Barbie movie and I love trans people so much.

I like how if you think about it, the same situation but shot in a different way really makes completely different genres huh.

Like a cool action scene can be someone fighting and it being energetic and engaging

Or that same fighting scene could be horrific as people die slow painful deaths

Like the avengers fight with space aliens is shot as a cool fight but that situation as a civilian and with different tonal cues, could feel like a disaster movie instead of a superhero action.

True love is vague posting about how you’re making a friend draw your dnd characters together moments after they DMd you about how they’re drawing your dnd characters together in view of the dm.

Something I feel has really negatively impacted my capability to do basic things is the idea that if I have to do something I have to do it perfectly every time.

Like I understand how in some cases I’m saving myself and others trouble in the long run, sometimes I just don’t have the mental capacity to wash the dishes perfectly or stack them in the perfect way rinse the dishes before putting them in the dishwasher.

I’m reminded of that Tumblr post that says if the dishes are too much for you to do, run the dishwasher twice. And I just hate how whenever I go through a burn out it’s the same old song and dance of how I’m lazy and a slob or whatever.

Like I know I’m privileged blah blah blah ok virtue signalling over but my job requires me to clean, educate, and customer service at the same time. I’m an educator that doubles as a person to make sure a space stays tidy and that both adults and children are having fun and being safe and telling them where things are and just being a pleasant face to interact with.

And my other job requires me to be a creative and also an educator and a pleasant face to interact with though luckily I’m not there to customer service the audience hahahaha.

But I wish my burn outs were not discredited just because my job doesn’t involve sitting at an office in meetings.

I work a nine to five being an educator/customer service worker and then after sew/perform/do makeup/advocate for queerness.

So I’m sorry the pan isn’t spotless cause I cleaned it while I was burnt out and tired and just wanted to do nothing.

I’m sorry my room is a mess because everytime I clean it I have another performance gig and have to take it all out again.

I love learning about people talking behind my back years after it happened and not caring because it’s inconsequential and though a bit disheartening it’s also funny cause I probably deserved it a bit.

Ok it pisses me off on how people don’t realize they’re cherry-picking stories when they actively search for instances of people of colour usually black people being mean to white people.

Like yeah, everyone of all races can be a fucking jerk. You haven’t discovered anything new or nuanced.

But if you have to complain about it then at least understand that this isn’t reverse racism. It’s someone being a fucking rude bitch to you cause you are white. It sounds like it’s racism but it’s not because racism also requires a systemic hierarchical backing of violence.

Like when I an Asian make fun of “white” food for having no flavour or whatever, I’m being a rude bitch about someone’s food, you can call that portion of the conversation out if I ever made that joke in the wrong place. HOWEVER do not call it reverse racism. Because if someone who does not experience anti Asian racism made fun of my food, it unfortunately also plays into the years and years and years of racialization of Asian people being disgusting orientals.

No one should judge you on your skin colour and I’m sorry to everyone that had a poc be an extremely rude terrible person. However remember the people in poc. That means some poc are going to be rude and terrible, that does not discredit the fact we deserve rights and we do not have equal treatment.

Nimona is very relatable in some parts and unrelated in other aspects. Like if I was a hurt shapeshifter who was treated terribly by society and I’m also 1000 years old, I’d probably be a bit of an anarchist myself. And I fully know her bloodlust is probably a front for her painful past but anyways I’m going to turn this post from talking about nimona into talking about anarchy.

Cause like I understand where anarchy is coming from but I’m hesitant to fully embrace like a true sense of anarchy and chaos because it won’t create equality because not everyone has the correct skill sets and abilities for them to be able to live and survive in pure anarchy and chaos.

But I do believe in the little anarchy and chaos we can choose everyday. And I believe in that what seems to some as care compassion and kindness, can be perceived as anarchy to others. Give and care to people who we’re taught to shun by mainstream socialization. Meet those often met with vitriol with empathy.

If it’s anarchy to be kind in spite of a world that tells you to forge for rugged individualism at the expense of others I will try and share compassion and understanding.

But if we just wanna go around breaking and killing each other no thanks.
