how to help regressors with ptsd

-know their triggers

-know what helps when they get flashbacks

-get them away from whatever is triggering them if possible

-do breathing exercises with them

-ask if they can be touched

-ask if they can talk

-give them options if they’re awake enough to answer them

-read to them/talk to them soothingly when something triggers them

DO NOT:

•intentionally trigger them while angry

•bring up their triggers negatively to them

•yell at them

•be mean to them about their triggers, even if unintentionally

i know this isn’t everything but this is a good conversation starter on figuring out how to help and what not to do !!

Today’s International Self-Injury Awareness Day, so I wanted to make something. All alternatives are taken from this post, go there for more!

Remember that I love you, and I’m here for you. Please be safe.

Rebloging for anyone that may need it. I am here for you if you ever need to talk. The self injury struggle is real and know that it will be okay. 💖💖

🔆 Morning Routine For Age Regressors 🔆

🔆🔆🔆🔆🔆🔆🔆🔆🔆🔆🔆🔆🔆🔆🔆🔆

🔆🍼 wake up and think about one thing you are thankful for and write it down or make a note of it or make a post about it and share it or just save it for yourself.

🔆🐣 go potty and make sure to wash your hands and brush your teeth! maybe brush your hair some and try on a really big bright smile and see how it looks on you.

🔆🍼 do some morning stretches! touch your toes, wiggle your hips, and touch the sky!

🔆🐣 get some delicious breakfast and make sure to eat it all and have a glass of water.

🔆🍼 take a cool shower (so you don’t irritate your skin with super hot water that dries you out 🥀) to get all nice and clean.

🔆🐣 put on your softest lotion and put some oil in your hair so you don’t dry up! ** don’t forget to put on sunscreen/sunblock!

🔆🍼 get dressed and pick out your most favoritist clothes, it’s not about other people it’s about you! so wear what makes you happiest and the most comfortable.

🔆🐣 make your bed (while your hair dries in the cutest fluffiest blanket ever), and clean up your room so you’re ready for the day.

🔆🍼 make a routine for yourself. just write down, on some fun paper with a vanilla scented pen, what you want to accomplish for that day and get your stickers ready to use as markers for what you complete! **Fun Tip:: write down, “do one nice thing,” so you have it in your mind to help someone out and spread joy and positivity!

🔆🔆🔆🔆🔆🔆🔆🔆🔆🔆🔆🔆🔆🔆🔆🔆

Everytime a new season rolls around me writes down a new routine, it’s supah fwun cause me decorates it, but it also helps me to actually get the things done me needs to

🌟 Little Space Tip #19 🌟

It’s great fun to watch movies when you’re traveling throughout little space! There are plenty of movies and specials you can watch on YouTube, so here’s a small list of recommendations! Things are vaguely ordered by the movies for the littlest littles up to the older kiddos, but feel free to watch whatever feels interesting!

Everyone’s played the board game once in their life, if not several times in their youth, it’s Candy Land the movie! As Jib the gingerbread boy travels throughout Candy Land on his way to King Kandy, he must befriend the characters he meets along the way to stop Lord Licorice’s evil plan to take over the kingdom! Great for those littles that love candy, musicals, and cheesy early 2000s animations!

Ever wondered what your stuffies may be up to when you’re not paying attention? Well, they go on a picnic of course! In this special, two bears, Benjamin and Wally, help a little girl find her own bear after having gotten lost! Great for when you need a little distraction and want to just watch a self-contained story, but don’t have time for a feature length movie!

Come and learn your ABCs with Ms. Honey’s class! Throughout this special you’re treated to alliterative sentences accompanied by a fun visual for each letter of the alphabet, from A to Z! You’re sure to know your ABCs when it’s over! Great for littles who want to be treated as a little one, love storybooks, and love silly cartoons!

Full episodes of Sesame Street can be considered special considering they’re nearly an hour long! Just like the title suggests, Cookie Monster thinks the moon is a cookie! Buzz Aldrin comes to visit to help him get his facts straight, Ernie plays while Bert tries his best to ignore him, Elmo’s World is about the sky, and this episode is brought to you by the letter T and the number 2! You’re never too old to visit Sesame Street - or too little! - so watch if you love muppets, music, and learning!

In this two-part special of the Backyardigans, join Pablo, or Agent Secret, as he travels the world to stop The Lady in Pink from using the materials she’s gathering for evil! Full of mystery, spying, singing, and dancing, this special is perfect for fans of the show or those littles that love spy movies!

Join Strawberry Shortcake as she makes friends while preparing a birthday party for her little sister, Apple Dumpling! It’s cute, colorful, and berry sweet, great for littles that like music, colors, and sweet friends!

The Lego Avengers have to deal with Lego Ultron trying to take over the world! Like other Lego superhero specials, it’s full of fun, jokes, and action! Great for fans of Lego, Marvel, and cartoon hijinks!

💿 The Little Bear Movie - 1 hr 15 min

Little Bear and Father Bear are out camping when Little Bear meets another young bear, Cub! With the help of friends new and old, they work together to find Cub’s family! This movie is perfect for fans of the show, or littles who enjoy talking animals having fun in the woods!

📀 Robotman and Friends - 1 hr 8 min

Technically two separate specials, they both involve the titular Robotman! And friends, Steller and Oops! They’re robots from Robot Land, and they’re powered by love!!! They also love music, and use it to fight their villain Roboron, who hates love, happiness, and music. It happens, I suppose. They’re very cute, and kind of reminiscent of Care Bears, having two human friends, so if you enjoy cheesy, sweet creatures who just want to help, and music, this is the movie to watch!

💿 Superman Cartoons (1940s) - 2 hr 20 min

It’s a bird! It’s a plane! No, it’s Superman! This is a collection of the seventeen shorts produced by Fleischer Studios in the 1940s! It’s remarkable animations and action-packed stories have entertained little ones decades ago, and can entertain the littles of today just as easily! Great for fans of old animation, DC comics, and classic heroics; you’re sure to tie a blanket around your neck to become your own superhero after watching!

📀 The Powerpuff Girls Movie - 1 hr 9 min

Sugar, spice, and everything nice, these are the ingredients chosen to make the perfect little girl; When Professor Utonium accidentally adds Chemical X, the Powerpuff Girls are born! Watch as they learn how to handle their powers in order to stop the dastardly Mojo Jojo! Great for kiddos who love super heroes, action, cute things, and are fans of the show!

💿 Marvel Rising - 2 hr 49 min

The next generation of Marvel heroes are here to save the day! Meet the young new heroes as they work together and become a team, the Secret Warriors! Great for those older kiddos that enjoy action, super heroes, and Marvel!

Grab a snack, and enjoy the show, cadets!

I love this! Do I have to have Netflix to watch these? If so I don’t have Netflix 😭

🎒 Little Bag Checklist 🎒

✨ When traveling throughout little space, it can be very useful to have all your little gear altogether! That’s why many cadets have their very own little bag!✨

✨ A little bag, or age regression bag, is any bag used to store and carry your little stuff place to place. It doesn’t have to actually be little, it can be big or small, have a cute pattern or be a solid color, all that matters is that it can hold your stuff! It can be an old backpack, a mini backpack, a suitcase, a purse, or even a lunch box! ✨

✨ So now that you know what it is, what do you put in it? Well, anything you want! Every cadet has different needs, so every cadet has different gear! However, if you have absolutely no clue what to put, here are some ideas! You don’t have to have absolutely everything listed, and you can even mix and match to suit your needs! ✨

🎒 The Basics 🎒

✨ No matter if you’re traveling or staying at home, these items are great to have if you’re a little space cadet! ✨

🌠  Pacifier - In case you need a little soothing, having a paci on hand is great! It can help calm you down or even keep icky fingers out of your mouth!

🌠 Teether - Some littles find chewing more soothing than sucking, so in that case, a teether is more suitable!

🌠 Small Stuffie - Having a little friend nearby can help alot, especially if they’re soft or textured! You can even get a licensed character to show off a fandom you’re in!

🌠 Bottle/Sippy Cup - As long as it’s leakproof, it’s great to throw a bottle or sippy into your little bag in case you get a bit thirsty! Water is the best choice, but feel free to have some juice if you want!

🌠 Wipes - Whether they’re individually packaged or come in a travel pack, wipes are just a good thing to have in general! They can help clean up sticky fingers, a dropped paci, and many other messes, which makes this a must have!

🌠 Bandages - They can come in various colors, and may even have some familiar faces on them! So whether it’s for a papercut, scrape, or just to be used as “stickers”, they certainly will find a use!

🌠 Pull-Ups/Diapers - Just in case you’re feeling especially little, having some protection on hand can make you feel extra, well, protected!

🌠 Coloring/Activity Book and Crayons/Colored Pencils - Coloring books are great to help keep yourself occupied in case of little space! You can get a simple kid’s one or even a detailed adult one!

🌠 A Kid’s Book - Whether it’s a small chapter book or a board book full of pretty pictures, having a nice book to read can be great! Sometimes slipping into a fictional world or getting enthralled by nice imagery first can making slipping into little space much more easier!

🌠 Snack/Treat - Sometimes having a yummy granola bar, some animal crackers, or even a lollipop, can help make a journey throughout little space go as smoothly as possible!

🌠 Portable Gaming Console and Games - Playing fun games rated E for everyone or EC for early childhood is a great way to entertain yourself! If you don’t have a gaming console, but have a phone or tablet, feel free to download fun apps!

🌠 Music Player - It can be a MP3 player, an Ipod, or even your phone, if you can create a playlist - or more - for little space, it can really help! Listening to kids’ music, or even just songs that help you feel little, can go a long way!

🎒 Undercover Little Space 🎒

✨ For when you aren’t exactly “out of the toy box” so to speak, but still want to have something nearby in case of unintended take-off into little space! ✨

🌠 Cute Water Bottle - Staying hydrated is very important! If you happen to have a cute, fun water bottle, which so happens to have a spout, you’re just taking care of your health!

🌠 Chewable Jewelry - Able to be disguised as a fashionable piece of jewelry, these are great for littles that enjoy teethers! Made out of food safe silicon, many are as, or even more, durable than a baby teether! If in a pinch, many pendants can even easily be sucked on as a replacement for pacifiers!

🌠 Multicolored Pen(s) and Notepad/Journal - While crayons may be questionable, having a multicolored pen (or several colorful pens) is just very responsible! After all, you may need to take some very important notes or draw some very important pictures!

🌠 Activity Book - Think word searches, crosswords, mazes, and hidden pictures! They’re really common activities to do, and they’re great for the mind!

🌠 Fidget Toys - Whether it’s a fidget cube, fidget spinner, tangle, or squishy, they’re all tools to help stimulate your brain for optimal levels of functioning! As a plus, they come in all sorts colors and designs, so they are sure to fit your aesthetic!

🌠 Toy/Collectable Keychain - They’re basically just mini toys or stuffies, which can make finding your keys much easier! However, if you just want to hang one on your bag, that’s fine too! They can make a great accessory to show off some interest of yours!

✨ So now that you have all your gear gathered together, feel free to have a wonderful time in little space! Have fun, cadets! ✨

Omg this is so cute

I love love love this idea. Daddy comes home tomorrow so I’m gonna try and get all my little stuff in a bag to take with me!

summer tips for regressors ☀🌡

summer is coming pretty early where i am, and since i’m already in need of some of these tips, i’m sharing them to all of you! 💙

tips for staying cool:

  • keep a spray bottle handy! i just fill mine with water, but you can add fragrance if you want! a bottle of perfume also works! 🌸💐🌺
  • try to find or buy/thrift cute clothes that are also made of thin material! baggy clothing can also keep you pretty cool if it’s not too heavy
  • eating cold food can help you regulate your inner body temperature! i would recommend fresh fruit salad, sandwiches cut into shapes, fruit juice/smoothies, and of course ice cream!! 🍦
  • if you refuse to take off your onesie, try unbuttoning or unzipping them a little bit to let cool air in! turning on a fan (or multiple) helps too! 🐻🐸🐰

tips for having fun in (or out of) the sun:

  • swimming always helps me regress! if you can’t access a swimming pool, running a cool or lukewarm bath works as well!
  • water gun fights with friends or a cg can be a blast! just be careful not to slip and fall! 🔫💦
  • playing with kinetic or regular sand can help you feel like you’re at the beach! bonus points for seashells(yes, even fake ones!) 🐚
  • watching kiddie movies with ocean and beach themes! my favorites are the little mermaid, moana, and finding dory!
  • playing with bath toys and other plastic toys in water and pretending they’re at the beach or pool is sooo fun!!! well at least for me 😅
  • and of course, going to the beach, water park, or boardwalk is super fun if you like to swim, play in the sand, or play fun games and win stuffie prizes!!!!

tips for feeling like you’re on an island even if you’re super duper far away from the ocean:

  • finding ocean/sea creature themed baby gear, stuffies, and clothes(it’s super easy to find them during summer!! you should even find some treasures at the dollar or thrift store)
  • eating tropical fruits(mango, coconut, banana, pineapple, etc) or tropical-flavored foods! you can even put some vanilla coconut milk in that sippy/bottle/cup of yours!!!
  • listening to beachy or tropical themed music!! whether it be the beach boys or the moana soundtrack, it’s gonna be a good time 🎶
  • look at pictures, videos, and gifs of pretty beaches and underwater scenes 🌊🤩

feel free to add to this list! have fun, stay cool and drink lots of water!! 🐳
