The way they treated Steven in Gen3 was so odd. He only ever appeared in this one-off, and is a no-show during the whole Hoenn crisis two-parter with Lance getting the spotlight instead. (I guess for FRLG promotion, or because Wallace had taken over the Champ role in the games by the time those episodes aired?) Fortunately, the Mega Evolution specials were a lot kinder to him.
