Award-deserving scenes: Tommy Lee Royce and his son Ryan in the finale of Happy Valley season 1
Tommy and Ryan - Happy Valley 1, ep. 6
Love the aesthetic but these brushes boutta start looking like Cynthia pickles
May I introduce you to the Greater Hog Badger?
He is one of the most animals for sure
popping my back isnt enough i need to be picked up and slammed against the wall like a wet trout
okay, i cannot explain WHY but this song. this song is carl's and carl's only. idk if it's the angsty tone of it or??? but he'd slaughter the living shit outta everyone listening to it and probably cry silently after and negan would be SO fuckin confused (i.e. absolutely endeared)
So far my takeaway from Tokyo Vice is that you become a crime reporter by stalking every hot person you meet and hoping for the best.

Ok the Backstreet Boys “I Want It That Way” scene with Sato and Jake was iconic
so after I watched the first ep of Tokyo Vice I wondered if the main actor Ansel Elgort studied Japanese formally or maybe spent some time in Japan because he speaks it so well/naturally in the show so I looked him up and nope turns out that he just studied 4hrs a day for a month for the show that’s super impressive take it from someone who has studied Japanese formally
–this is Sato. He’s not as brooding as he seems.

Tokyo Vice (Ep 2/3)
There’s always that racist “Karen” in every country.
Ansel Elgort as Jake Adelstein in HBO Max’s Tokyo Vice
I love language I wanted to say I was rusty at something but then I was like “Wait, there’s no reason another language would use that exact same metaphor, of comparing rusty metal to a person who hasn’t done a skill in a while. I can’t assume that it makes sense to them, I might look like an idiot spouting nonsense if I try to say that I’m covered in rust somehow instead of just bad at this.” so instead I went into my dictionary and carefully looked up the specific phrase “out of practice” and the very first thing it gives me is “oxidado” which is literally the spanish word for “rusted.” Fuck off
That’s a pretty cool political opinion you got there dude. Did your web of online friends and mutuals who all subconsciously monitor each other and self-correct in a panopticon-esque fashion to ensure that your views all stay in line with each other’s at all times pick it for you?
“I’m safe from having my political views dictated by others because I’m catholic” is probably the funniest thing you could add to this
Anti-revenge narrative this, anti-revenge narrative that, I personally think that Inigo Montoya had the right idea when he stabbed Count Rugen in the gut and said "I want my father back, you son of a bitch"
It was even better in the book! He stabbed him 3 times around the heart and when Count Rugen noted that Inego was cutting out his heart, Inego said “You took mine when I was 11; I want yours now!” And then the Count died of fear before the blood loss could take him.
Revenge is only a bad narrative if your character can’t become a badass pirate when it is all over.
