you don’t want to drop every 4chan ideology that you hold until it’s revealed to you to be problematic at heart and you just, gosh! you can’t figure out why hating furries is problematic so you won’t gut this attitude regardless of the actual place that it comes from.

so here, let me spell it out for you

the furry community is an online community that is absolutely dense with queer people experimenting with and expressing themselves through their art.

people experimenting with their gender identity is commonplace throughout the fandom to the point where it’s completely normal for trans women to experiment with female presentation online through their fursona and not have everyone judging them for having a penis irl because it’s a community where what you are does not matter as much as who you are

people experimenting with their sexuality is commonplace throughout the fandom to the point where it’s completely normal for straight men to have gay porn done involving their characters and not even blink, or even COMMISSIONING IT, and these men discovering that they’re actually bisexual, pansexual, or even gay without having ever experimented or thought about it until that point. it has outlets for sex-repulsed and asexual individuals to still explore the fringe aspects of their sexuality through characters with no visible genitalia, or completely SFW imagery that still evokes a response. (sidenote, you know all those kinks you love to mock like inflation, and vore? these are the vulnerable people you’re making fun of when you do that)

the furry community is very inherently a space for queer experimentation and discovery. i’m not even going to begin to go into how the furry community culture helps keep artists afloat and alive by encouraging people actually buying and commissioning art

and you just hate it because 4chan told you to and you said “that sounds like a good idea” because your ideologies need to be informed by strangers on the internet telling you what they should be, so here’s a stranger that you actually should be listening to telling you what to do with your “i hate furries” crap:

ftr there are completely valid and prevalent issues to hold with the furry fandom (the way it harbours and protects outright abusers, poor content control in regards to where and when is appropriate to share adult work, the kink side of the community being such an overwhelming public face that others feel unwelcome, genuinely harmful or illegal content being shared with the excuse ‘don’t like don’t look’) but if your issue is “it’s weird” or “they’re into harmless stuff I’m not into” then c’mon dude

The aforementioned “harbouring, protecting and excusing predatory abusers” problem is directly related to the fact that the community is so full of vulnerable neurodivergent & lgbt people (easy to prey on, and the community’s standards are such that if they are outed, they’ll still be supported - there are several literal rapists / sexual abusers I know of that still have a steady flow of support and popularity despite public knowledge of what they’ve done); and its a shame because I’d love to be able to be positive about the community as a potential safe space! But it’s not. More accepting than the average, but certainly not safe.

I think another main issue people have with furries is that we shOVE IT IN EVERYONE'S FACE WE ARE A FURRY. But the rest are valid points yo, its weird and people dont want weird that isnt their weird. Plus its internet cool to hate furries in 2013 so it must still be relevant

One of the only things I would change about Zootopia is Nick becoming a cop. He looks damn good in a uniform but you can’t take a chaotic neutral hustler and put him on a lawful good police department. He’s too morally ambivalent for the ZPD since they’re the only actually good police force to ever exist. Let the boy have his reign of the streets and give me more Fox Crimes. Give me Nick making good with Mr. Big and working with the mafia! Could you imagine? That would be the best. 

Exception: Zootopia 2: Cool Cops, where Nick is that cop that doesn’t really do his job and lets people off the hook for stuff like loitering, graffiti, petty theft, weed, etc. He’d pretty much only do his job if someone’s safety was at stake. I’ll take Nick being a cop then and only then.
