@utilitarianarchitecture This is the TROLL 1 gas belonging to the Norwegian national oil company Statoil. (they call themselves equinor) but if you're pumping stuff out the bottom of the sea that's destroying the atmosphere... I guess you're going to try a bit of rebranding! This is apparently the tallest structure built by man Or BY WOMAN to have ever moved. Honestly if you get the chance view these on a big screen because the shot looking up inside the leg is pretty amazing. #brutgroup photo via #utilitarianarchitecture https://www.instagram.com/p/CCdB51Il4bj/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

@fdestribute During the Socialist-Era in Romania huge massive soc-modernist apartment buildings were built according to the national development plan. In the city of Alba Iulia they were planning a majestic boulevard but realized one of the bloks got in their way. They split the building in two and moved one of the halves to the other side of the road. They dug under the building, put railways and wheels and moved it 55 meters away (180 ft). The whole operation took 5 hours and 40 minutes and the (now) 2 separate buildings were moved apart on a 33 degree inclined angle. All this was done with the residents still inside the building. The engineer Eugeniu Iordăchescu, the one who saved by moving 12 churches that were intended to be demolished by order of Nicolae Ceauşescu in the ‘80s, was the author of a real “ engineering miracle ” here in Alba Iulia. #brutgroup Photos Via: #socmod #socheritage ; https://www.instagram.com/p/CEhhGpPlag3/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
