Let's have some fun

Hello everyone, I just wanted to thank you guys for your support and patience throughout the month of October. I hope you enjoyed my art, if you want to see more here is a link to my Deviant Art page where you can see the full images as well as everything else that I've drawn. https://www.deviantart.com/brookebcool I really enjoyed sharing with you, so if I draw something I particularly like I may post it here. Thanks everyone and Happy Hallothankmas. #inktober2020 #gratitude #nightmarebeforechristmas #deviantart #allsaintsday https://www.instagram.com/p/CHD6bFKFPaf/?igshid=1lckyrciuxg1u

Day 31, Medusa. The last Inktober challenge till next October, so we end this saga with the one and only Medusa. When I drew her I wanted her to look like she's 110% done with everyone's shenanigans. After all she comes across as someone who just wants to be left alone. #inktober2020 #inktober #mythology #medusa https://www.instagram.com/p/CHBwsdSlMQ4/?igshid=zfpdzk8s49u8

Day 30, Selkie. These are creatures from Celtic folklore, they are seals most of the time but there are some nights when they will remove their seal skin and walk around like people. You can capture one if you take their skin because without it they can't return to the sea. Its really cool folklore and there's even a movie about them called "Song of the Sea" its really good, and visually pleasing. Its on Netflix if you haven't seen it yet. #inktober2020 #inktober #celtic #folklore #selkie https://www.instagram.com/p/CG-xx0uFJ1L/?igshid=1oo22j4i50gr

Day 29, Mothman. This kind of speaks for itself, the Mothman is a creature reportedly seen in the Point Pleasant area from November 15, 1966, to December 15, 1967. The first newspaper report was published in the Point Pleasant Register dated November 16, 1966, titled "Couples See Man-Sized Bird ... Creature ... Something". The national press soon picked up the reports and helped spread the story across the United States. #inktober2020 #inktober #mothman #cryptid https://www.instagram.com/p/CG8OexGF4oJ/?igshid=11c0d7fsvv8vh

Day 28, Venomous Naga. Today is a naga, a half man half snake creature. They have all the features of both a snake and a man. This one is based off a black mamba, they are beautiful snakes but pack a powerful bite if you get to close. #inktober2020 #inktober #snake #naga #blackmamba https://www.instagram.com/p/CG5n2p0l1Fa/?igshid=1vwlm17r3av5i

Day 27, Drider/Jorogumo. Spiders, you love them you hate them and there's something about them that just isn't natural. This isn't a new concept and spider people date way back. There are even scary stories about them in ancient Japanese legend. They are called Jorogumo over there, they hide near the water waiting for unsuspecting men on the shore so she can ensnare them and drag them to a watery grave. #inktober2020 #inktober #drider #jorogumo #spider #spiderpeople https://www.instagram.com/p/CG3Ce4Nla7b/?igshid=163uc870rf0fh

Day 26, The Headless Horseman. Today we have a good old fashioned ghost story. The Legend of Sleepy Hollow was written by Washington Irving, and is about Ichabod Crane, Brom Bones and their dispute over the beautiful and rich Katrina Von Tassel. This story also has a kick-ass ghost, he is a hessian soldier who took a cannon ball to the face and lost his head, now he roams the woods looking for his lost head. I would have drawn the horse but again I absolutely suck at drawing animals. #inktober2020 #inktober #headlesshorseman #washingtonirving #ghoststory https://www.instagram.com/p/CG0fqD1FFWh/?igshid=1n6twa6eo1nhl

Day 25, Deep Sea Mermaid. The ocean is a massive enigma that is both beautiful and terrifying. Especially when you explore the deep sea, there are some freaky things way down there. So I thought to myself what would a deep sea mermaid look like and thus this monstrosity was born. The neat thing about this drawing is that it glows in the dark. #inktober2020 #inktober #mermaid #deepsea #deepseacreatures #deepseamermaid https://www.instagram.com/p/CGycabkl64l/?igshid=ajoutzx14hsj

Here is a puppy update for you. They are getting bigger and stronger everyday and they even opened their eyes this week. I'm still looking for homes for my little boys, so please if you or anyone you know wants a fantastic family dog let me know and I'll make it work. #puppy #puppylove #home #family #boydog https://www.instagram.com/p/CGybw8nlwmP/?igshid=v677g8blvomh

Day 24, La Llarona. I assume most people are familiar with her story, she was a poor woman who fell in love with a man above her station they had two sons together. The man eventually left her for another woman and in her grief and rage she drowned her children in the river, once she realized what she had done she joined her children in the river. Now her ghost haunts the river weeping and looking for her lost children. #inktober2020 #inktober #mexico #ghoststory #lallarona https://www.instagram.com/p/CGvHi7VFBQ-/?igshid=g2fmph5gofdk

Day 23, The Mummy. This one is a classic and I just had to dabble and draw him. I tried to make the areas of exposed skin look like its decomposing. #inktober2020 #inktober #mummy #egypt https://www.instagram.com/p/CGsvdpzF76G/?igshid=1csys6mfwym8e

Day 22, The Two Faced Creep. Today we have a double feature. This monster is actually pretty common. The present themselves as an attractive person with seemingly a great personality to match. But then when you say something they don't like or you say no then they become monstrous and hideous to behold. This one is not gender specific and anyone can fall victim to this monster, think r/nice guys and r/nice girls. #inktober2020 #inktober #twofaced https://www.instagram.com/p/CGqJ_u6FYUv/?igshid=1l57rgd5ls0ni

Day 20, Pennywise the Dancing Clown/ it. This is a Steven King monster, and its one of the worst kind of monster the kind that goes after kids. This is one of the nightmares that you can't wake up from and it will hunt you down forever. Granted the whole turtle being its nemisis is a little silly but Pennywise knows how to keep you on your toes. #inktober2020 #inktober #pennywise #stevenking #it https://www.instagram.com/p/CGlBLePlwKH/?igshid=fa69w2vktahj

Day 19, The Wendigo. This monster is from Native American folklore, and is meant to be a symbol of winter and starvation. They are crazy fast and can mimic the voice of your loved ones to draw you in closer. They eat human flesh but are never satisfied and are always emaciated and ghastly. You can become a wendigo by eating human flesh out of desperation and delirium. If you happen to run into one you best bet is to pray to whichever deity you worship because your about to meet them, since your in the sight of a wendigo its very rare that you'll escape. #inktober2020 #inktober #wendigo #nativeamerican #folklore https://www.instagram.com/p/CGiP58wlGI-/?igshid=1xg5guhv8wqhp

Day 18, Jason Voorhees. As far as movie monsters go I think Jason has the highest kill count. If I'm not mistaken o think that number is 126. Jason is one of those baddies that you can sort of sympathize with. We all have been in a place where we feel picked on and those who are supposed to protect you don't. I can see how Jason became a homicidal maniac. #inktober2020 #inktober #jasonvoorhees #sympatheticvillain https://www.instagram.com/p/CGf5T4PlLrh/?igshid=139xu4wolydvo

Day 17, Freddy Kruger. You know him, you love him, he kills you in your sleep today its the one and only Freddy Kruger. When the first movie came out he was pretty terrifying, but now thanks to MANY sequels it seems like he's lost his effectiveness. Like when Frozen was popular and everyone got sick of it after a while. Anyways enjoy...#inktober2020 #inktober #freddykrueger #boogeyman https://www.instagram.com/p/CGdJDnOlJqq/?igshid=siysz4m88qmr

Day 16, Death. With this portrayal I didn't want death to be scary, I was going for hauntingly beautiful. Death is usually depicted as a skeleton with a black cloak and scythe. But there is one interpretation were death is depicted at a lady in white, I think she's meant to show the gentler side of death where it can be more of a relief than a fear. I thought is would be interesting to combine the two, the scary and the gentle depictions of death. #inktober2020 #inktober #death #haunting #beautiful #gentleterror https://www.instagram.com/p/CGagzqlFvhc/?igshid=mjlufcyeuf78

Day 15, The Boogey Man. The interesting thing about this monster is it doesn't really have one solid physical description. He's used more as a description for any monster that's out to get you. Examples of the boogey man include characters like Freddy Kruger, slender man, Jason voorhees and the like. #inktober2020 #inktober #boogeyman #monsterunderthebed https://www.instagram.com/p/CGX7kWhl7i2/?igshid=v1y3if67rvzu
