- grassy meadows first nations (ontario) needs funds for an escape route
- odawa first nations (quebec/ontario) is raising funds for evacuees
- algonquins of barriere (mitchikanibikok inik in alberta) lake mutual aid request
- if you’re near gatineau, you can drop off food donations for mitchikanibikok inik at the ramada plaza; you can also email info/@/health.rapidlake.com with mutual aid donations. please note that the maniwaki native friendship center is now closed to donations
- if you’re directly affected, the pueblo action alliance has developed a guide for DIY filtration for the smoke

Already 3.3 million hectares of land in Canada has been burning because of the extreme heat and dryness and it’s not even halfway through wildfires season. They’re actually predicting this will be the most destructive wildfire season in Canadian history. But most of what I’ve seen posted about these fires has to do with air quality. So I’ve decided to try and compile a list of resources to donate to help Canadians being affected at this time.
Alberta
- The Red Cross which seems to have a donation page for most provinces. Both the Canadian and Alberta government will match each dollar of your donation.
- Food Banks Alberta helping to feed those affected.
- Disaster Aid Canada general help
Atlantic Canada
- The Red Cross which if you donate to both the Canadian and the Nova Scotia government will match each dollar of your donation.
British Columbia
- United Way BC supporting communities by giving them things such as food, mental health support, and shelter.
- Food banks BC helping to feed those affected.
Canada as a whole
- Unite for Change not directly donating to the fires but is working to make changes at a provincial and federal level to help fix the climate crisis which is directly making the fires worse.
Please tell me if you know of any other places taking donations to help either put out the fires or help the people affected. If any of these donation links are also donating to discriminatory policies or such like anti-trans legislation's please inform me so I can remove the link!
Quebec and Ontario links are especially wanted as I couldn't find anything for there and neither could my friend.
i swear to god i regret reblogging that estrolabs post because absolutely no one is focusing on the actual issue, which is that it's a phishing site very clearly run by malicious people and giving them any information on yourself could fuck you over big time
their ashwaganda "estrogen replacement" would be useless at best and extremely dangerous at worst, if it actually existed. however the products on that site almost certainly do not fucking exist and never have, and they have zero intention of actually producing them. the listings for the "supplements" aren't on the site anymore.
when scams like this pop up suddenly, they're not legitimate to even the slightest degree. there was never a real product, they were trying to get your money or your card and contact information either to doxx you, harass you, or literally steal from you. it's a PHISHING scheme, not a "making a shitty product to Literally Kill People" scheme. one of these things is far cheaper and far easier for a layperson to do.
while the information on the function of ashwaganda was definitely useful generally, it was/is not the most present danger of this estrolabs/queerquirk situation and people need to be aware of the actual threat these kinds of sites and situations pose.
as i was writing this estrolabs has been taken down, but queerquirk is still up and still advertising it's fake products and has a contact us page. do not give them your contact information, even to send hate. it is not worth getting phished to epicly own the dumbass behind this scheme. report the site and move on.
i've been reading a bunch of stuff online about public opinions in the USA about climate change, and. We need to talk about this.
Widespread climate change denial in the USA is a myth.
A majority in every single state believes that climate change is real and supports taking action to stop it

Because the erroneous belief that climate change is controversial stops people from talking about it and emphasizing it in political and social movements, and fuels a sense of hopelessness that stops people from acting
