“Well, I don’t know who I am. Maybe I’m happy sad, too. I don’t know.”

In the 30 for 30, they interviewed a couple of the jurors and one of them was just defiant. She was like ‘I don’t care really what OJ Simpson did, I saw that Rodney King thing, and it was payback time’ So you can trot out as much DNA evidence as you want in front of her but it wasn’t about that for her. Talking to jurors after the verdict drives me crazy. Often times their decisions hinge on the most irrelevant point that has nothing, NOTHING, really to do with the case. I’ve won cases and talked to jurors and thought to myself 'I cannot believe I won on THAT’. You just say to yourself 'I can’t believe that is what they hung their hat on’. You look over in the jury box and you know, their eyeballs roll up to the top of their heads, they’re bored out of their minds. They’ve kind of got their minds made up already anyway and they’re thinking to themselves 'I’m getting $15 a day and I have a lot to do at home,’ they’re thinking about all kinds of other stuff and not focusing on the trial. When you interview them afterwards, not only do they fixate on things that you never thought were relevant, but they are so invested in the decision that you don’t really get an honest appraisal of what happened. There are also those that are just 'confused’. The thing that I marvel at as an adult is peoples’ inability to process information. Really just the ability to take in information and understand it for what it is.
