This is to anyone who has been or is expecting to go to a concert at any point in their life. Practice human kindness. I recently went to Vans Warped Tour and what I saw was horrifying and what I experienced was just awful. People would go down in the middle of the crowd instead of someone trying to help them up they were just trample them and step all over them. It was sick no one thought “maybe I should reach my hand down and pick this person up” instead their immediate action was to just step on someone else’s face. I myself have anxiety and usually during calls like this because of the music and the energy I can contain it but during one specific set it went downhill and I lost control. I had an awful anxiety attack to the point where I almost passed out in the crowd and when my boyfriend tried to pull me out nobody would move. I stood there crying, helpless trying to just focus on staying up and had to watching people just stare back at me and try to push past me. Only one person thought move and thought to help me this kind lady stood behind me and started shoving people out of the way on my boyfriend stood in front she kept them off my size but he tried to bulldoze his way through. When I got out I couldn’t even fathom what just happened it was ridiculous. This specific anxiety attack lasted me for another 2 hours until I could talk without bursting into tears again. Now I know concerts can get intense and things happen but this is absolutely ridiculous I only witness this behavior during one set it wasn’t a hardcore set and I had already seen bands that were a lot harder than this one and actually the people in those crowds we’re a lot nicer. So the basic moral of this PSA is if you’re going to go to a concert practice some fucking human kindness. Protect the small girls. Protect the small boys. Protect the big girls. Protect the big boys. Protect the parents. Protect everyone. And if you’re the person who let someone get trampled unfollow me right now.
