Hey, Amora the enchantress, what's happening with her, since last year, she's totally missing?

Avatar

Ah, I've missed you! But I'm afraid that I don't have any new Enchantress new to report, sorry.

Avatar

I'm not sure if this has been established, is Captain Britain alive in the current Marvel Universe? And are there any plans to use him anytime soon? Cheers

Avatar

He's in U.S.Avengers in an issue or two.

Just wanted to say thanks for the Alpha Flight Omnibus. It's great that some of the older material is coming out in these larger collections.

Avatar

Cool, glad you liked it. It's crazy some of the stuff we're reprinting.

Do you consider Jim Shooter to have been a tyrannical editor or a man who refocused the core properties of your company and did what he had to do to breathe new life into them?

Avatar

Honestly, a bit of both.

Hi Tom, I just wanted to say that I love the concept of the Champions and every single character in the book. I've read the first five issues now and despite normally loving both Mark Waid and Humberto Ramos as well as the team I just don't love this book. I'm going to have to drop it now because it just hasn't entertained me. But I really do hope the book does well enough that it'll get another chance with another creative team, because I'll be all over that.

Avatar

Fair enough. Thanks for giving it a shot.

I must assume Marvel still holds some form of copyright/trademark control over the Japanese Spider-Man series from the seventies (tho I'm sure there was still some negotiation required to use him in Spider-Verse) but by any chance does the company still own a piece of the original "Super Sentai" series, Battle Fever J, which Marvel co-created? I just think it'd be hilarious for them to show up in a comic on some parallel Earth.

Avatar

I'm honestly not sure if Marvel still has any rights to Battle Fever J, but I kinda doubt it.

Hi Tom, any chance we see Star Brand and Nightmask somewhere soon? haven't seen them anywhere since their book was cancelled, tks.

Hi Tom. Recently I've been reading The Complete Ben Reilly Epic from the 1990s. I was wondering the following: A) Was it Marvel's intention to replace Peter Parker as Spider-Man by Reilly permanently, but did you guys change your minds halfway the story when sales started to drop drastically because fans didn't like it and then decided to reinstated Parker as the one and only Webhead? B) It was Marvel's intention to return to Parker as Spidey eventually from the get go? Thanks!

Avatar

Not exactly either. But it was more A, the intention of the story was to replace Peter with Ben permanently. But even once we'd gotten up to releasing the issues with the revelation in them, enough personnel had changed behind the scenes that people were already having second thoughts and backtracking, even before there was any reaction. And sales didn't crater on the Spidey books at that point, anything but--which is one of the reasons why there was such pressure to keep that story going.

Hi, just saw the cover of Generations, super excited to see what's in store. But I was kinda sad that 2 Wasps weren't on the cover. Can we still expect to see them featured in the story?

Avatar

No, but they'll both be featured in upcoming issues of Unstoppable Wasp.

Avatar

Just wondering if you guys plan on revisiting Next Avengers or at least Kymera, Storms daughter left over from Battle of the Atom

Avatar

Yes, actually! And probably where you might not expect it.

Avatar

Just saw the cover for Jean Grey Generations and it's gorgeous. Adult Jean meeting her younger self feels like it shouldn't be just one single issue but I will enjoy it no less. I hope it's emotional and makes an impact.

Avatar

Hope you enjoy it!

How does get Jason Aaron get to throw Mjolnir's classic and venerated origin out the window?

Avatar

What classic and venerated origin did Jason throw out the window? Revealing new stuff isn't quite the same thing.

Is there any chance we might ever see the return of classic anthologies like Strange Tales and Tales to Astonish? With such an expansive catalog of amazing heroes that rarely see the light of day like Valkyrie or Black Knight and the demand for new characters like Mosaic and Ironheart, I feel like anthologies would be the perfect place for characters new and old to have stories.

Avatar

The problem we have with anthologies in the modern era is that, more often than not, while a given fan might be interested in one feature they are often indifferent to the other feature(s). And so it becomes difficult to get the necessary buy-in from enough readers. You're more likely to be able to make, say, a Valkyrie series work than a split book that's half Valkyrie and half, say, Black Knight.

Two things: a statement and a question. Here is my vote to have Infamous Iron Man continue until you are able to tell the story to completion. There are a few things I haven't liked, but I digress..2) what was the course of (editorial/creative) events that cut short International Iron Man and turned it to Infamous? Obviously it was Stark going into stasis, but whose idea was that?

Infamous Ironman will absolutely 100% continue to its natural story driven conclusion. and we are very proud of that fact in this market.

anything that has happened in the Ironman books has happened because of  Story choices I have made either in Iron man or in Civil War two. If you’re looking for that big chapter of what happened to Tony in between international and infamous than Civil War to is the place to go.

I think it’s fair to say,  With Tony, Victor and riri’s stories about to collide… we are headed towards one of the biggest Ironman stories in modern times.
