It's been a rollercoaster of a year. I'm still working the same job, but so much has changed. Got into my first relationship, moved out, had surgery, took him to his first hockey game, went fishing for the first time in 15 years, vacation for my birthday, spent every weekend alone in September while he went hunting, we adopted a dog, moved houses again, another hockey game for his birthday, Thanksgiving together, and Christmas. Now new years, almost a year together and I wouldn't trade it for the world.
at this point I will give tumblr all my money to just *not* do anything.

I also know the head of the shelter board and she saw it was me applying and went "she'll be a perfect fit for him." The girl that called me yesterday asked if I knew Bre, I said yes. Find you an OB/GYN like I did. One who says "okay" when you tell them you want sterilized. I gave her my reasons and she said "you sound like you're sure about it" and it took longer to do the paperwork than my pap smear. It took a month for my insurance to be sure I wasn't being forced. It was shocking for a town so small as mine for her to say yes. I was ready to fight for my right to get a tubal. But when she said yes I deflated. It was worth it.

And I guess he doesn’t count as a serial killer but Eric Harris had already been making threats and harrassing students to an extreme degree before Columbine- police literally had a search warrant but they just never acted on it. If they had, they would have found the guns and pipe bombs and the shooting could have been easily prevented. They even tried to cover this up afterwards.
Serial killers and mass murders are usually not that smart, police have just historically refused to do their actual jobs.

There’s some new Batman comic where he is like watching over Gotham during a riot and he’s like “I don’t have time for these looters plus all these items are insured and why should I attack people who are mad at this city for the same reasons I am lemme focus on an appropriate target” and the comments are like NOOOOO Batman cares about ALL crime big or small he would fight it all this is out of character !!! Bc to them he’s literally just an omniscient super cop watching over all crime. That’s crazy. The worst and most inaccurate characterization of Batman is the most popular one apparently. He literally marries a thief. Selina invented robbery and fraud. He found his sidekick ripping the tires off the bat mobile like he surrounds himself w looters what’s not clicking

Don’t lie to them. If y'all are in love, tell them what’s bothering you. They care. It’s okay to be vulnerable with them. Don’t tell them “yes, I’m okay” and you’re not, because then you’ll be mad at them for not understanding your hurt when YOU HAVEN’T EVEN EXPLAINED IT to them. People can’t read minds. Give them the chance to listen, give them the chance to understand. Let them love you, communication is key.
This is honestly something really important I’ve learnt recently. It’s so hard to do this when you have relationship trauma and you’ve spent so much time with past partners who were constantly gaslighting you and invalidating all of your feelings constantly. It’s hard to come out of that and try to trust someone new. I’m really thankful I found someone who’s so patient with me and so reassuring. He just genuinely cares so deeply about me. It feels nice to be loved properly.

I realized about two months ago? that I've used reading and writing as escapism. Since I started dating Silvertongue it's been an adventure to try to write or sit down and read. I miss it, I want to escape for a bit into my stories and get back to my characters. But, because I've been recovering from surgery I've smashed two books and am on a third, will probably finish it before he gets home or tomorrow.
So, I got a tubal ligation last week, on the 26th. Doctor told me no sex for two weeks...somehow I couldn't even last four days? God. Why does this man turn me on so much? And then last night, and again this morning before he left for work
