hey pals!! i'm working on a filterable, tagged collection of picrew i like. right now there's about 60 picrew (and other such makers such as those from neka or meiker) in there with tags for things like fashion, hair options, skin colors, specific features like horns or headscarves, and body types. you can search for multiple tags at a time and filter out tags you don't want. the whole thing is organized in a big grid of sample results from the picrew in question, so you can see the style at a glance and click it for more images and the url, but you can change the view and organization system however you like.

the link is here!!! feel free to share this wherever. i'm still going through my folders and adding more makers, so expect lots of updates real soon.

i'm hoping this makes it easier for people to find picrew that suit them and their characters, especially in cases where it's unfortunately harder to find certain features like dark skin options and fat bodies.

have fun!!!! i hope this is helpful for people!!!

just learned that magnolias are so old that they’re pollinated by beetles because they existed before bees

They existed *before beetles*

Why is this sad? Why am I sad?

This is how I feel about Joshua Trees. They and avocado trees produce fruit meant to be eaten and dispersed by giant ground sloths. Without them, the Joshua Trees' range has shrunk by 90%.

(my own photos)

Not only they, but the entire Mojave ecosystem is still struggling to adapt since the loss of ground sloth dung. their chief fertilizer.

Many, many trees and plants in the Americas have widely-spaced, extremely long thorns that do nothing to discourage deer eating their leaves, but would've penetrated the fur of ground sloths and mammoths. Likewise, if you've observed a tree that drops baseball or softball-sized fruit which lies on the ground and rots, like Osage Oranges, which were great for playing catch at my school, chances are they were ground sloth or mammoth chow.

You can read about various orphaned plants and trees missing their megafauna in this poignant post:

You’ll never be a pony, Jimmy. You don’t have the honesty, the generosity, the pureness of heart. You just take and take. You’re not a pony at all.

And HE gets to have a cutie mark? What a sick joke.

The thing about Peggy hill is you see her in some episodes and you might think well this woman has some lesbionic mannerisms. but the truth is she's just one of those very sporty southern moms who inexplicably gets away with not upholding their side of the gender roles even in communities where everyone is kinda expected to do that. Like she kinda gets to do what she wants. Cause she's Peggy that's just how Peggy is. And she has a husband and a kid so they're like ok fine I guess

Like if you told her she looked gay here she would laugh really awkwardly and be like Well, I hope you mean that as in "happy", because in that case I am positively gay. I am so gay and in love with my wonderful husband Hank. And Hank would be like *texan sigh* Peggy, You can't go around tellin people you're "gay" for me. People are gonna start to get the wrong idea. And then shed accuse Hank of being homophobic and double down

Here's a thought:

As someone who has never read a Deadpool comic, has only seen a single film, and has otherwise only been exposed via pop culture/memes,

Is anyone in Deadpool's universe at all concerned/aware about his fourth wall breaking? I want to know what it's like for the guy who catches metatextual zingers that throws him on a collision course to discover an increasingly horrifying, existence-shattering truth about his reality.

That's the kind of shit I could see as a villain origin story. Having a villain trying to weaponize the medium they are imprinted upon, even.

here’s when dp explained it to spider-man on their silly little camping trip from Spider-Man/Deadpool Issue #41

No villain origin story though, sorry

the rest of the comic run continues to be pretty meta- too much actually, to where it’s overdone- but sp’s frustration reaction with it is interesting

Dystopian YAs be like

A terrifying new disease has begun ravaging the world. Girls have started spontaneously disintegrating in piles of pleasant-smelling powders. Boys dissolve into mounds of frogs, snails, and dismembered dog tails. In a world where people are turning into their respective biological ingredients, no one is safe...

Except Harlow Cleverwood.

Upon discovering that her not being like the Other Girls has spared her, she must discover the origin of this epidemic and put a stop to it.
