"We keep mum on all of our sales figures" - This really speaks of people who feel they have something to hide.

No more so than any other industry. It’s proprietary business information.

This idea that somehow because we buy the books we're somehow shareholders and are entitled to business info is ridiculous.

... Star Wars #1

In 1978 I was born into a post-Star Wars world.  Like so many of my contemporaries, I grew up in a time when Star Wars was the biggest things in pop culture.  It's kind of hard to remember now in a world where blockbusters are normal and everything in pop culture is "huge" for about 5 minutes, but in the late 70s-mid 80s, the only thing bigger than Star Wars was Michael Jackson (more on him and the "concerts" I would perform for my grandparents another time).

Of course I grew up loving it.  I watched the movies on a loop (on my VCR that weighed a metric ton, of course), I wore the clothes, I listened to the music, I played with the toys.  And when it had it's revival in the 90s, I was thrilled.  Seeing a New Hope in the theater again in 1997 was one of the most exciting nights at the movies I can remember.

I say all this not to proclaim myself as some sort of super fan, but simply to make it clear, I love Star Wars.  And yet... I have always had a hard time getting into the Expanded Universe novels and comics.  Something was always missing.  Maybe the music.  Maybe the effects.  I don't know what exactly, but they never worked for me.

Enter Star Wars #1, the relaunch at Marvel.  I'm a big fan of both writer Jason Aaron and illustrator John Cassaday.  I was still skeptical, though.  I shouldn't have been.

The comic works from page one where it says "A Long Time Ago in a Galaxy Far, Far Away" in that very familiar font.  It feels like Star Wars.  The characters sound like themselves.  The action is fun.  It is exactly what you imagine a story between A New Hope and Empire might be like.  This is the Star Wars comic I've been waiting for.  If you're a fan, check this out.  It'll feel more like catching up with some old friends than any other Star Wars project since Jedi came out has.

(Please note: this offer applies only to Antistar!) - If you're so certain the majority of people like Axis, as you have said, then why do you limit this offer just to Antistar?

Because he signed his name, for one. Try it sometime.

If you didn't like it, don't buy the 2nd issue. God, the number of ignorant anonymous Internet jerks Breevort puts up with on here is staggering.

Clarify this for me if you will Mr Bendis; Is the new powers in dec a reprint of vol 1 iss 1 or a new series?

Brand-new number one. all-new story. double sized for regular price.

Primo new material for new readers coming on board because of all the television craziness but picking up exactly where you leave off at the end of powers: Bureau 12 which when Michael read the script said: Jesus…

also the new number one is going to have exclusive behind-the-scenes power TV stuff. the perk of being an executive producer :-)

 and the covers!! MMMMuaagh!!

including a TV show photo cover and another cover we are debuting at the powers panel at New York comic con. it was art done for the show by an artist that you guys really love.

... And this is why the online comics fan community never gets taken seriously. Even when we raise legit points, we are overshadowed by people like this.
