Hello there! I'm Bork, and this is where I reblog most posts from other people. This is so I can keep my main blog from getting too clogged up while still sharing other people's thoughts art, fics, etc!

If there's a potentially triggering post that you think I should tag with trigger warnings, please, dm or @ me!! I promise that I do not at all mind, and I will absolutely tag it so people can avoid it.

Yes, I think Sturgeon is autistic! She struggles quite a bit at being social, although I think she can read others fairly well- Outside of Fangtooth and Tansy. She is not very good at expressing herself, and can come off as cold and uncaring, when that is absolutely not the case. She also has struggles with PTSD from what Thresher put her through in her childhood, but she has learned to cope with it in her adulthood and is fairly well adjusted. (All things considering)

Egret has similar social struggles to Sturgeon, and is fidgety / stims by whipping his tail / talking with his paws frequently. He hasn't been in the story much yet, so I will say no more.

Hake I also write as autistic, although he is very extroverted, so his social struggles have not been very visible. He quite loves to make friends, and he gets attached to others very easily. His very into bugs (and the tide) and will talk for hours about either, if you let him. (He is aware he'll ramble though and tries to catch himself)

As for Mental Health, my darling Trout has been struggling with PTSD from her assassination attempts, which can be expected.

Sturgeon is highly respected in the family because of the persona she has spent her life building for herself. She is viewed as a strong, loyal member of the family, who upholds the tides laws over all else. As far as the family is aware, she has traditional values and has no love for the Daisys.

Obviously this is not the case, she's on the daisys side entirely, and constantly tries to manipulate the system to help them, but with the reputation she's built no one would think this.

What Lurks Beneath is shortened from “What lurks beneath the surface”, which I liked because it could have two meanings. What lurks beneath the surface of the water that they send sacrifices to, and What lurks beneath the surface of a person(cat).

As a character driven drama, it seemed fitting. Sturgeon as an example; on the surface she is a seemingly cold loyalist to the cult, but that is not who she is at all underneath it all.

Sometimes titles just come to you! I dont have any particular advice for finding them, i use placeholders for most of my ideas til i think of something suitable.

8 facts about STURGEON!

1.) She is the tallest of Threshers children.

2.) She is envious of her siblings ability to make friends and bond with other cats. This has never come easy to her despite her best effort.

3.) Sturgeon enjoys telling jokes, but her humor is dry and her voice is monotone, so most do not realize when she is joking ):

4.) She has excellent medical knowledge, she learned it from Petrel.

5.) Sturgeon is a lesbian!

6.) She chose Fangtooth to be her Lionheart after Thresher died.

7.) She uses her ability to intimidate others to gather information, when she gets blackmail on someone she uses it to make them another set of ears. Knowing what is going on around the island is very important to her.

8.) She loves her siblings more than anything, even if she does not express it in ways they understand.
