at this point googling just about any cartoon character (particularly ones from preschool shows) now gets you auto-generated questions with nonsense answers, usually scraped from a random fanon wiki run by children because google just assumes that anything on fandom dot com is trustworthy

A degree from a medical school and a license to practice medicine do not automatically make a person:

  • Completely free of personal biases and internalized discriminations
  • Up to date on all the latest medical studies and scientific researches
  • Know everything, even within their own field of expertise
  • Never be wrong about anything

Medical abuse, neglect, and gaslighting are very real and they happen to real people all the time.

Doctors are neither perfect nor are they saints. They mess up. They make mistakes. They have moments of poor judgements. They are not right 100% of the time. They are still human.

I learnt my post has too much information that can trigger abuse survivors. I've decided to make a new post with less information about my abuse but with the hope to get all the support i can get!

incase you're just seeing, my name is Mariam, a 24y/o lesbian, abused by her grandma and dad just after they found out I'm gay. I'm looking to move out, as I still live with my abusers.

if you can, please click here to read my detailed post (as said in the first paragraph, the post is sensitive and triggering). if you can't read, please understand I'm being tormented and need to move out as quick as possible and i need your help to do that. please buy me a coffee using the link below. also, you can get a drawing in return(on request). i also hope you won't read and ignore this as a boost/reblog from you will go a long way in reaching people/person(s) who might help. thank you for reading! HAPPY PRIDE!

GOAL UPDATE(29TH JUNE 2023)

73% OF $850

$620/$850

as said in my "plan update"- i'd love to meet my financial goal before then (next week), i really want to be 'good to go' in all ramifications- please help me do this! please donate if you can, don't stop boosting and don't stop praying for me.

I remember when I was really little, an older lady who was a friend of my family led me to a tree, and pointed out a cicada that was about to emerge from its shell. Ever since then, I've had a fondness for these guys. Here's a piece from a couple of years back, that I painted in honor of the recent emergence of Brood X. Pen & ink and watercolor, 6x9 inches.

everyone comparing the reception redditors are getting to the one twitter users got is ignoring a critical piece of context: the twitter refugees were, by and large, returning ex-tumblrinas

site-culturally speaking, twitter users are new-promethei; their discourses were born on tumblr, where they were hated, so they left for the wider world in search of female-presenting nipples and promptly started killing people while we cowered in fear of what we had wrought. we were thus hesitant to welcome them back without assurances that they would behave themselves

redditors, meanwhile, are starfleet officers on a malfunctioning holodeck; kinda weird and not 100% sure what's going on but a million and one percent ready to commit to the bit as soon as they figure out what the bit actually is

N - letter 14 - best known for: shorthand for 'and' when you're too good for &, the only letter in '-tion' that keeps its normal sound

VERSUS

æ - letter 31 - best known for: the only ligature in this tournament (that still looks like one), a favorite for fantasy writers trying to look fancy

wdym fantasy writers, it's a regular letter in Norwegian?

norway is a fantasy land

i think when people who are phobic about bugs follow bug blogs on purpose to desensitize themselves that is one of the coolest and bravest things a person can do and they deserve recognition and praise

famous person: i'm bisexual

the media: this person's sexuality has been the cause of great debate but i think we can all agree that they were straight. when they said "a hole is a hole" they were referring to their love of golf. some people have claimed that despite being married to someone of the opposite gender this famous person had affairs with people of the same gender but this is not true. they were a hetero but such a good ally that they would fuck their gay friends in support of queer liberation

it is kinda weird to me when trads are like "augh...this led to the downfall of Rome..." about something they perceive as bad.

Why are we suddenly on the side of the Roman Empire here. I would not go so far as to characterize past civilizations as "bad" any more than I would call them "good," but we are talking about the guys that, summoning the greatest extent of the ancients' medicinal knowledge, innovated a method to publicly execute people as slowly and painfully as possible on purpose

Also, if you're Christian, wouldn't you want Jesus avenged?

sure happy pride I’m glad you found your community but are you normal about straight queers, disabled queers, fat queers, non-white queers, masc queers, queer men, queers who use “confusing” labels, queers who use “contradictory” labels, queers who identify with slurs, multigender queers and their attraction labels, and trans and intersex people’s bodies?

Without pain, How could we know joy?

OH GOD I DO NOT BELIEVE THIS I DO NOT BELIEVE THIS AT ALL.

This is from The Fault in Our Stars, in which Augustus’s family hang Live/Laugh/Love-like calligraphic quotations on their walls. Hazel and Augustus make fun of these quotations because they simplify/essentialize complexities of suffering and injustice. The whole point of this is that these quotes won't suffice, because Hazel and Gus are looking for the kinds of meaning that can withstand the reality of suffering (and, eventually, the finality of it).

So yeah. Okay. I'll probably delete this later.

It always drives me crazy when something a character says in a book is quoted as if the author said it.

"Build me an army worthy of mordor"

-J. R. R. Tolkien
