Some union basics:

1. Striking is the LAST RESORT. If a union is at the place where a strike is being proposed it is because they have been bargaining for a long time and exhausted all their other options.

2. Before a strike happens, all the members vote. Everyone is very aware of the status of negotiations long before they’re made public. But if a strike is occurring it’s because an overwhelming majority voted to strike—you want almost everyone in the union to agree before you take such a huge step.

3. Strikes are difficult but necessary demonstrations of workers’ collective power. The hope is that your labor is so essential that the bosses lost profits will make them come back to the bargaining table. The bosses are hoping that the workers will starve to death.

4. Working during a strike is called scabbing. Coming in from an outside industry to do work during a strike is sometimes called crossing the picket line. Both send you straight to hell.

i have a friend who has kinda bad eczema on their right hand but their left hand is fine and thats because acidity makes eczema worse and that includes vaginal acidity and my friend is both a lesbian and a slut so they finger a lot of people and that fucks up the hand they use (their right hand). Anyways do you think BBC sherlock would deduce that by looking at my friend’s hands

nothing couldve prepared me for the last sentence

petition that instead of making new lord of the rings films they should just re release the original trilogy in theaters. have world premieres. press tours and interviews with the cast. new lines of official merchandise. drop unseen content and behind the scenes footage. I promise we will all go ballistic

PSA info from my therapist since I started keeping a journal:

You're not supposed to read back in it. I repeat, YOU ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO READ WHAT YOU'VE ALREADY WRITTEN. The journal is for purging thoughts and emotions, and when you read back over what you've written, you're just reintroducing those thoughts and feelings back into your head. It creates a spiral of wallowing in and perpetuating your own negative emotions, never letting yourself move past them. Reading your journal can literally make you worse.

watching this show after 2016 is so wild. Yuri is always like “omg why did viktor choose me omg why’s he interested in me” meanwhile viktor is like explicitly in love with him and is like “who r u dating? do u like men? do u have feelings for me? I am in love with u”. And now it’s like wow! Gay ppl. But back in 2016 it was like “damn can’t believe they’re queerbaiting us again :/“ AND THEY WERENT!!!!

Say what you will about the years it's taken for Ice Adolescence to air, but I'm actually glad for it in some ways because the long, long wait means we've had to spend all this time just appreciating Yuri on Ice for the genuine miracle of creative passion it was.

If we'd gotten a sequel or a movie right away, I think a lot of people would have forgotten some of the magic within those first twelve episodes. Not to mention the impact they had on those who watched and experienced it as the show aired.

Even if we never got anything else, Yuri on Ice would still be remembered, adored, and cherished because above all it was made with absolute devotion. The director, the writer, all the voice actors, the choreographers, the composers, the audio engineers, etc. etc. etc. Everyone was committed to giving everything they had to this tiny production that no one outside their team believed in. It aired late, and the only reason it blew up into the phenomenon it became was through word of mouth by an audience who recognized that devotion in each successive episode.

It'll be amazing to get more of Yuuri and Viktor someday, but for now, I'm just happy that Yuri on Ice exists at all, and that there's been so much consistent, living, breathing love for it so long after the final episode aired.

Love made Yuri on Ice legendary, and I sincerely like that it's gotten to stand on its own merits for so long.
