@boigles

im billy and im a huge dumbass

i am super fucked. bank account is now ZERO.

Even though I called the court officers the day after the judgement letter, pointing out that I made 146% of the Federal Poverty Level last year, that under NJ state law, the most they could take for a weekly wage garnishment would be 10% and asked if I could negotiate a 5% per week payment instead, as my rent is 575/month and it costs me 330/month to get to work each month. I receive SNAP (food stamp) assitance of $15/month.

After two days with no reply, I left another message. I woke up this morning to find out that an indefinite hold had been placed on my account for everything I had– which was $386.40 AFTER my bank also charging me a $75 court order processing fee. The 386 dollars has an indefinite hold: Dec 31st 2099 or until they say “okay, give us the money”. The total amount I am said to owe, minus previous payments and plus court costs, is $1236.40 . I have been trying to reach the court officers for a settlement or arangement and this is what’s happened so far. My patypal account is seperate. I can tranfer funds from there. Maybe even enough to pay this off, but at the very least I could use the paypal debit funds for immediate things, because I don’t want to have to walk 2 miles to work in 85 degree heat after today. paypal.me/shawnstruck

Afternoon reblog. Sorry to be so annoying about this; the needle hasn’t really moved in a day or so and I’m still trying to deal with this.

in a few years there’s gonna be some sort of diagnosis for trauma from the internet because so many of us got exposed to porn or some other horrific thing at a young age and nobody 20 years ago could have prepared us for how fucking damaging the internet is to our mental health

I know I told this story before but last year I was having complications with a surgery and I just broke down in a public place and I was trying to gather myself, sitting and leaning on a wall when this girl in cowboy boots approached me and sat down and she asked what was wrong and I told her it was medical issues and she said “I understand, I have to have my foot amputated next week” and it shocked me out of crying and I was like “wow that sucks!” And she said “yeah.” And then she just touched my arm so tenderly and told me “I promise you that this problem will have its place, and everything is going to work out.” And the way she said it just made me really believe her. She said. “We’re just gonna have to cowgirl up.” And then she stood up and walked away and I’d call that a genuine encounter with an angel but the truth is there is a lot of goodness right here on earth in humanity and it’s shining and pure.

Okay but “this problem will have its place” is genuinely inspiring

THAT REALLY STRUCK ME because I’ve always hated the tired rhetoric of “this happened for a reason” and this feels like a more genuine, comforting take on that. Not “it happened for a reason,” but “this will find its spot in your life and your future that it fits into in a way that will eventually work out even though it sucks that it happened.” Love that.

We’re just gonna have to cowgirl up
