Update on CM Screenplay FIC

The first four parts are now posted on FFN. I also finally came up with a title for the complete series - “Past, Present, and What if?”, which comes from the three Emily Prentiss relationships I focus on i.e. Ian Doyle (Past), Derek Morgan (Present –  tbh I spent days trying to decide if this was going to be Demily or Hotchniss, but Demily just ended up making much more sense with the trajectory of the story– Hotchniss deserves its own fic), and Jennifer Jareau (What if?)

Part 1 - Anger Issues

ok so there’s a game me and my friends play called “don’t get me started” and basically someone gives another person a random topic and they have to go on an angry rant about it and it’s the best thing that’s ever happened to us at parties and car rides so I highly recommend playing sometimes with your friends

I love this idea. We used to do things like this in Improv.

Related game: “THINK ABOUT IT.” You’re given a random topic, and your job is to build it into an epic conspiracy theory, the crazier the better. You end your rant with a serious face and the command that your listeners “Think about it.” 

Another related game: Illuninati. Similar to Think About It except you are given 2 completely different topics and you have to connect them to each other in a wild conspiracy rant

me and my friends play “World’s Greatest Expert” where one of the other players says “Hey, I heard you’re the world’s greatest expert on ____” and you have to give an in depth (and probably completely false) lecture about the thing you’re the greatest expert on. Other players are allowed to ask you questions.

AMELIA

My baby girl getting her own centric it’s what she deserves! Such a good episode. Love how it’s outside of Seattle, in her hometown and everything it feels so refreshing. And of course there’s a good neuro case! I love how she decided to introduce Link as Owen to her family until mama Hunt came. The way she stand up for herself in front of her whole family was INCREDIBLE! Still so much she didn’t tell that would worth the mention (her son, Ryan, rehab…) but it was enough for this time I guess. She’s just the best. A real queen.

ATTICUS

Can this man be any better? Even though I’m not a hundred percent for their Relationship and I still want my Omelia back, man, he’.s just a DREAM with her. He made her smile, he made her laugh and happier so I’m good with that. Get you a man that didn’t know you that much but still back you up at a family diner when your sisters are talking craps on you. Really glad Amelia made up to him at the end after what she told him on their way back after the diner.

KATHLEEN

Sorry not sorry but to me she’s just a Mc Bitchy 2.0 (the first one being Nancy of course) couldn’t they have bring my girl Liz instead? Looks like she was just here to hurt Amelia every time she could. I really wish she could see how much her little sister has grown and the beautiful woman she became, no matter the mistakes she had made in the past. Would love to see them have a good discussion and finally bonding but now I’m good without her.

NANCY

Erk. Never liked her and it’s even worse after that episode. She never cared about Amelia, then she saw her and invited her to a diner to finally only throw her mistakes to Amelia’s face? HELL NO. She deserves better. Kinda glad they gave her “redemption” at the end with Amelia wanted to see her. Would not mind to see her again and have a real redemption arc, like apologizing to Amelia and be in good terms at the end.

MAMA SHEPHERD

Finally we’ve got scene with Amelia and her mom! I’ve missed her so much! Didn’t expected their reunion to be that good. I cried of leughing when she came and throw her bag and coat to Kathleen and only cared about hugging her baby girl Amelia. Their big scene at the end like… OMG I CRIED! This is what Amelia needed. Because no matter how old you are, you’ll Always need your mother and now Amelia know she can count on hers. I Always knew Amelia was the “you remind me so much of your dad that it hurts. Still would have loved that Amelia talk about her baby to her mom but that’s okay, it was enough for one time, let’s save that for another time.

Book Review: SAVE THE DATE by Morgan Matson

I’ve only read one Morgan Matson book before (Since You’ve Been Gone) and loved it, though I’ll be the first to admit that YA contemporary isn’t usually my jam. Matson proved me wrong again with this book– Save the Date is compelling, hilarious, and multi-faceted. The detail and development is extraordinary, as the whole story only takes place over a single weekend. Save the Date isn’t just a book about a wedding gone awry; it tackles the looming fears of senior year, the reality of being in a “grown-up” family where every person suddenly has their own independent life, and the unexpected consequences of creating autobiographical art. This novel was a thorough delight, packed with all the nostalgia and bittersweet melancholy that weddings and senior year– however wonderful they are– still bring to the surface.

I want my writing to be smart.

Here’s what I mean: I want to write something you can understand on the first go, no problem. But then, the more you think about it, the more little things you realize. Are those little things essential to grasping the plot? No, but they enhance it. Most importantly, you feel smart for pointing them out, and I feel smart for writing them.
