hi I'm Scotty William Valentine

I thought it would be nice to put a pinned post to Say Stuff about the blog

1. Check the "me post "and "my art" tags for my own things

2. my fandom is constantly changing So don't expect consistency

3. I made this blog when I was 12 So I chose a cringe name but I don't want to /cant be bothered to Change it .

more things will be added later

The countries that got tea via China through the Silk Road (land) referred to it in various forms of the word “cha”. On the other hand, the countries that traded with China via sea - through the Min Tan port called it in different forms of “te”.

I liked this so much I became curious… and it checks out! The explanation lies, unsurprisingly, in who was interacting with whom in early modern long-distance trade.

i just wanted to say as someone who came out as genderqueer in 2011, you are in no way obligated to switch from using "older" other gender terms to newer ones like nonbinary. it's okay if you like the term nonbinary, but it's also okay if you'd rather stick with something else instead, like neutrois, genderqueer, genderless, boygirl, multigender, or whatever else your preferred term may be. use what suits you

The fuck is this?? You think you can mock Twitter like you didn't just copy their shitty UI? Trying to become Twitter while simultaneously making fun of them ain't doing what you think it is. It's a pathetic attempt at pandering and I'm not buying.

this is so nostalgic. tumblr rolls out something terrible. everyone complains. it breaks several people's dashboards. for some reason it only rolls out to a few people at a time with seemingly no warning. the community collectively and immediately searches for a browser extension that undoes the change. i know we've all gotten burnt out on all social media sucking but this is genuinely The tumblr experience. everyone who hasn't gotten it already gets an achievement. welcome to the club

actually, im glad this post got notes

everybody in the notes going "but THIS TIME it's an objectively terrible choice/a bigger deal/a cash grab!!": first time in the clown car huh

Just saw a Barbie ad here for the first time. It is starting, folks. They must already be desperate if they're buying ad space on TUMBLR.

Do not reblog official marketing or ads from struck works

including (but not remotely limited to) Barbie. They are advertising here because their actors are on strike and will not promote their products.

Barbie is not a struck work. It is okay to reblog barbie content. It's done and finished. Going to premiers for it is crossing the line. But going to the regular ass movie is not.

Read me and read me good: not seeing Barbie is a great way to show execs that we don't care about writers and actors.

Let me say that again: going to see Barbie is GOOD for the strike. Many people who WORKED on barbie are striking. They probably have not been paid yet.

The unions HAVE NOT asked us to picket the movie. Just the premier.

The original post is disinformation.

I believe it to be coming from a good place but avoiding works that are NOT being struck is genuinely harmful to the cause.

Remembering that time I couldn’t focus on my gcse exam bc there was a butterfly in the exam hall. I had to get a teacher to catch it & release bc I was fighting every urge to do it myself but if I got up I’d be disqualified.

Honestly how do people get diagnosed without memes like this? The diagnostic questions are useless.

"How often do you find yourself unable to focus?"

"Well I drew pictures for 13 hours without stopping to eat or use the bathroom yesterday, so obviously I should answer 'rarely'."

At first I thought all the stimming and focus issue memes were supposed to be relatable, like "Aren't us humans so funny with how EVERYONE does these things?"

Apparently no, not everyone focuses on a task so hard they forget to eat or use the bathroom for 9 hours. haha oops :V

I learned all this incredibly late in life, but thanks to people discussing these things openly and sharing memes I at least got to learn about it at all.
