Twilight shitblog

@blondevampire-stan

Just another twilight blog on this hellhole

Shooting the Moon makes me so crazy ok. Like it's a song about an impossible task and the monumental idiot who's decided to take it on--who's lied about being able to do it!!! And it's played over such a tender scene between J&B, as they go about fixing the bikes and really genuinely begin to bond. On a surface level it seems like it's out of place, but it's not!!

They're both there because they want impossible things from each other; Bella wants to feel better about Edward, which she can only get some semblance of through J, and Jacob wants Bella's genuine affection. They both know what the other wants, and at least on some level, they want to give it to each other.

The thing is, of course, that's impossible at that time. Jacob is not Edward, and at this point, Bella just isn't over him. They're trying though, they're trying so hard. It's just!!!!!!!! Sorry I let you down!!!!!! Sorry it wasn't quite true!!!!!!!!!

Twilight but, when Edward rips his shirt off in his 'skin of a killer' moment, he doesn't sparkle but instead reveals a massive chest tattoo of a snail with 'effervescent' in cursive underneath.

uh so i never do this but maui is quite literally on fire and there isn't nearly enough care or consideration for. you know. Native Hawaiians who live here being displaced and the land (and cultural relevance) that's being eaten up by the fire. so if ya'll wanna help, here's some links:

center for native hawaiian advancement: https://www.memberplanet.com/campaign/cnhamembers/kakoomaui

please reblog and spread the word if you can't donate.

Just learning about this (!), and reblogging for visibility.

Also sending worried love to all my friends and all the people I don't know in Maui.

Right now, hold off on donating to the Red Cross and FEMA. There are reports coming out of Maui that they are withholding donations. Unfortunately, it is pretty common for this sort of thing to happen, but that's another post for another day.

Send your donations directly to the local charities and people. On TikTok, @kilikanaka is providing a lot of great coverage and resources on how and where to donate (he's local). @alib808 on TikTok is also providing updates on how things are on the ground and occasionally mentioning stuff related to donations and volunteering as well.

There's also this spreadsheet which was made by locals showing various GoFundMe links for local families. The sheet was initially made by locals, however this VERSION of it was modified by someone to rank the GoFundMes by level of support so you can specifically see who might be getting left behind.

i have a GRIPE with stephanie meyers “oh food tastes like ash why would vampires want to eat” thing.

if all their other senses are amplified to the extreme why not taste???

the food doesn’t have to give them nutritional value but tastes like ash makes no sense. i have options that make much more sense for if you still want them to not eat food and for if they do eat but have to throw it up

1. flavor is so strong it’s painful.

taste is amplified to the point that absolutely everything tastes like too much. vampires can’t feel physical pain? true for everything but taste everything is too spicy, to the point of physical pain (they do not eat)

2. palette changes when turning

taste is proportional to other senses but their palette shifts so most things have the same taste, it’s just unappealing. like how to humans we can smell and taste flowers, they’re just generally not appetizing, for this option i assume rare meat would probably be them most appetizing but still not actually food (like grass or something, it’s not repulsive but like it’s not good) (vampires don’t eat)

3. flavor is overwhelming but not painful.

taste is amplified to the same extent as the first one, but vampires still don’t feel pain from it’s just overwhelming like all their senses are as a newborn. if they don’t get used to it by eating frequently it continues to be overwhelming, and as newborns have no desire to eat normal food, so some vampires eat and some don’t (some eat)

4. flavor is just normal

it’s just proportional to their other senses so everything tastes the same but stronger. (vampires eat for fun sometimes)

anyway most of these options lead to a funny joke for me that sparkly vampires absolutely cannot tolerate spice. like bell peppers have no capsaicin but they’re still too spicy which i just think is funny

Hello twilight fans and friends 🥰

I know it’s a long shot but the charlotte observer is having a poll to vote for the #1 tacos in the Charlotte, North Carolina area! A fellow twilight blog’s (not saying exactly who to avoid doxxing them) small family restaurant is in the running! We’ve been voting A TON and they’ve made it into the top four!!!! They’re up against local chains with several locations and I think it would be really nice if we all rallied together to vote for them something something the power of friendship and supporting small family businesses

All you have to do is click this link, scroll down to the voting (you can just click submit you don’t actually have to type in yes, and vote for tacos and tortilla factory! You can vote as many times as you want by just refreshing the page!

I know it’s in third place (it needs to be in the top two to advance) but trust me we have closed that gap in past rounds!!

Winning would be a huge deal to them and I know the twilight fandom hasn’t been as active lately but why not come together to show our support? Even if you can’t vote a ton I would really appreciate it if you would like and reblog to spread the word!

Thank you!! ❣️❣️❣️

I still firmly believe having Rosalie be the one to find and choose to save Emmett was the wrong way to go and that Esme would have been a much better choice. I realize it was meant to be a show in terms of how well Rosalie can control herself— “she carried him over one hundred miles to Carlisle while he was bleeding” —but considering the fact that Rosalie’s self control is more or less never really mentioned again beyond what she did to Royce and his men, or for the sake of Edward making passive aggressive digs at her, that’s basically all the reason I need to ignore the choice made by Meyer. Esme, however, was never said to have any sense of real control. In fact, I believe she slipped up her fair share of times which arguably would have made her ability to somehow resist Emmett’s blood that much more impactful. Rather than having the arguably weird concept of Rosalie choosing to save Emmett because he had a “baby face” that reminded her of her friend Vera and her sweet baby boy, it could have been Esme who was reminded of her own baby whom she lost, leading to her becoming overcome with the need to save him as she was unable to save her own child before. It could have been a play on how much her desire to have a child of her own and be something more; a homemaker, a mother, a caretaker— ultimately helped her to overcome her bloodlust in order to get Emmett back to Carlisle in time so that he could be saved.

Not to mention that it is no whispered secret that Rosalie is not a fan of the vampire lifestyle. It’s very clearly stated that this is not a life she wishes to have been granted, nor is it one she wishes to see anyone else be brought into. If you really wanted to you could argue that the circumstances between Bella, in the beginning of the series when we heard this stance of Rosalie’s, and Emmett when he was found, are very different. You could argue that given that Emmett’s only choices were between death and eternal life, Rosalie would not have been so stiff about the concept but I would have to disagree. This is simply because of the fact that in Eclipse, Rosalie makes a comment to Bella along the lines of “if [any Cullens] had happy endings, we’d all be under gravestones now” which leaves me to believe that while she would have hated to see Emmett suffering, she still would not damn him to this lifestyle. This is much different from Esme who has a much lighter and joyous opinion towards vampirism as it more or less saved her and made her whole.

TLDR: Having Esme be the one to find Emmett would have been so much more impactful to not only the story of the Cullen family but to their characters individually. Esme could have had a much more hands on stance in bringing together her found family instead of just Carlisle. She could have had a more prominent role in helping him overcome his own bloodlust and learning to adjust rather than just being a quiet background prop sitting by helpless. Rosalie and Emmett’s romantic dynamic would have been much more organic and healthy. All in all, it just would have made more sense.

Halfway through new moon and i think these books should have just been Bella meeting a series of sexy Halloween monsters. Like the third book she starts dating mike who turns out to be a zombie

twilight au where carlisle is a competent medical practitioner so forks puts up with him but he has these insane old timey ideas, like he keeps trying to diagnose bella with hysteria
