• bb makes zero secret of the fact he has an extremely high opinion of kaz, including offhandedly remarking that if kaz had stayed in the jdsf his talents should have made him rapidly rise through the ranks, and ascribing an outcome to kaz’s “gift” for talking business in spanish.
• he straight up says that he considers kaz a true warrior and that he sees in kaz the path he wants to take as a warrior himself
• he says he considers them “true comrades” and seems to legitimately believe the paticular way they almost killed each other revealed this relationship somehow
• bb asks kaz for his opinion/advice often and they seem to make most decisions jointly after talking over the options (half of the gz tapes are them talking over subjects like ‘what to do about the un inspection’ and ‘should we rescue paz’, bb explicitly asks ‘what do you think, kaz’ two or three times)
• there is at least one topic where bb is in overt disagreement with kaz about what to do but has ceded to kaz’s decision (fulton helicopters)
• at several points during the main story mode bb voluntarily talks to kaz about his trauma and neither of them act like this is the first time that has happened
• (kaz doesn’t know everything, as evidenced by him not knowing where the bandana came from, but evidentally he knows enough to feel comfortable bluntly telling bb that he is not over it and he needs to let go)
• bb teases/jokes with kaz. multiple times. (one instance: “hey snake, mind if I ask you something?“ “since when did you start asking permission?” [kaz laughing])
• the only time we hear bb full-on laugh, it’s together with kaz, at something kaz said, which was mysteriously cut from the localization.
• in the mate codec, bb picks up on kaz’s exhaustion, asks him if something is wrong, and then suggests kaz take a break and hang out with some of the men to relax
