I think no matter what it is, a community will never like and accept "something being taken away" in their game, whether it be live games or TTRPGs. Actually I realized mid-typing that could be simplified to "people don't like it when things are taken from them". Yet "never nerf" mentality is seldom the answer and I never agreed with it. There are times in games where I have something that is simply too effective and I acknowledge its probably unhealthy for the game, or needs to be looked at.
