muir’s apparently genderless universe + the isolation of the ninth house + gideon and harrow being the only peer the other has means that in my mind, neither of them really had a conception of femininity or being a girl except for whatever the fuck the other one of them had going on. like, they see what the other is doing, gender-wise, and they go “no thank you! absolutely not for me” and that’s what they think everyone their age is doing. this obviously stops once gideon gets her hands on outside media and realizes harrow is, in fact, a weirdo, but wouldn’t it be funny if harrow arives at canaan house vaguely expecting everyone to be performing gideonity and instead she’s met with coronabeth and ianthe
