it’s so weirdly common to be rude to people who need subtitles or want subtitles as if it’s some kind of nuisance to have subtitles, but honestly? normalize having subtitles on everything. overall it can help people with language barriers who can read better than they can listen to a language, it helps people with comprehension issues, it helps people who have trouble hearing, it helps in general so whatever you’re watching isn’t interrupted by someone asking what someone just said, just put subtitles on! what the hell!

Just imagine though all the letters that must have been sent home about the shit Hermione did at school or updates the school sends to muggle parents so they’re kept in the know. And she’s never been in trouble before so her parents think this is just regular wizarding school hijinks because it obviously never has context for them and Hermione just rolls with it

Senator Bernie Sanders is running for President on a very simple message: enough is enough. Find out more about his stance on the issues here, donate to his campaign here, and look for him in the six recently-announced Democratic primary debates this fall.

I’m glad this is going around. People, Bernie stands for those of us who aren’t rich, who aren’t white, who aren’t in positions to abuse their power. There’s a LOT of hype going around because the media says Bernie can’t be elected (how’s that for pretentious? I thought voters decided that?) and because it’s easy to capitalize on buzzwords and then define them on the fly rather than define them by what they actually mean.

There is a HUGE volume of content out there spoken directly by Bernie. For decades his message has been consistent and unflinching. Just like this. Repost his actual words. Take away the media’s power to color this important man’s bid for president by refusing to say what they want you to think he says.

And then think. Of all the candidates running, do any of them speak like this? Do any of them have a message that’s about us, the little people? Do any of them actually give a shit?

Bernie does. I’ve met him a few times. He is…this. No games.

He did an AMA on reddit today for anyone interested.

I don’t even live in the states and I am tempted to donate to this man.

I’ve been a big fan of Bernie Sanders for a minute and I’m glad he’s added his voice to the presidential race and debates.

If we have to have another white man as president, please let it be him.

The more I learn about Bernie Sanders, the more impressed I am with him.

I normally don’t say this but this needs more notes. his biggest financial backers of labor unions who can’t shell out millions rich people and mega corporations can. a big part of Bernie’s campaign is gonna be word of mouth and social media.

whenever i’m talking to someone and they tell me about something that happened to them i always tell them about something that happened to me that’s similar to what happened to them. i do it as kind of a “oh hey yeah this happened to me so i can relate to what you’re going through” but i’m always afraid it comes out as “oh yeah well this happened to me so clearly i have it tougher than you” or “i’m done talking about you let’s talk about me”

i swear i don’t mean it like that……..

I run into this a lot with my job - so instead of telling the whole story I say something like, “Oh my gosh, I had something REALLY similar happen. What did you do after that??” And I’ve found that works. Usually they explain and then ask, “So what happened to you?” And then you’re invited to share, and the formula for conversing continues on. :)
