ah, i drafted this at 5 am so i forgot to say what i meant to say which is that “they” is being used as a non-binary pronoun here. which i think may be a little confusing if you don’t catch on right away so i thought i’d mention. hopefully it doesn’t stay confusing, but if it does i can always change it to something else. but for now let’s roll with it
