Playing his first T20 in the Nidahas Trophy 2018 against Sri Lanka, Vijay Shankar is an All-Rounder and a consistent performer in the middle order of the Tamil Nadu team. The man had a fantastic career in the Domestic Cricket which earned him a place in the International team. With five centuries and 10 half centuries, Vijay Shankar possesses a batting average of 49.14 in the First-Class Cricket. He won two Man of the Matches in 2014-15 Ranji Trophy playing for the Tamil Nadu Team.
Vijay Shankar was named as Bhuvaneshwar Kumar’s replacement in India’s Test Squad against Sri Lanka in 2017 in which he had no chance to play. He made his debut in the IPL 2014 with the Chennai Super Kings in which he played just one match. The player was later bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2017 and played a total of four matches. In IPL 2018, he will be playing for the Delhi Daredevils.
Vijay Shankar who is a Right Handed Batsman and Right Arm Medium pace bowler, is an experienced cricketer and is known to give his best in the Domestic cricket. Given that he did not play enough International cricket to prove himself, the India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka Tri Series gives him the right pedestal to make a solid impact in the Indian Team.
Nidahas Trophy is a T20 tri Series being organized in Sri Lanka in Celebration of their 70th year of Independence and will be played between India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. The tournament will commence on 6th March and will continue till 18th March on which day the final match of the tournament will be played between the highest point earners. Each team will play twice against the other two teams. The Indian team gave a rest to all the senior players like Virat Kohli, MS Dhoni, Hardik Pandya, Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Bhuvaneshwar Kumar, etc.
