Panic! At The Disco eras
please I have nothing left to give
This reminded me that during one of or post-show conversations in April Zack told me to start saving money for next year and then just kept hinting/teasing about how awesome it'll be... I had completely forgotten.
so my new photo camera has a continuous shot feature that takes these wonderful little gif-worthy sequences of my night. its wonderful. panic! at the disco | penn state behrend college | erie 4.22.16.
Zack was super chill after Panic's show at Purdue last week and we got to chat for a while. The highlights: If Panic! ever ceases to exist Zack says he will share the cabin album as consolation. But he also says it's really not very good and wouldn't make us feel better: "I understand the curiosity but if you've ever wondered what a shit-ton of drugs and trying too hard would sound like, that album is it." And Zack had an adorable custom onesie made for Kenny's baby, Dean, with a Panic! crew logo and his name on it. He was so excited (and hadn't given it to Kenny yet) and I hope we get a picture.
***ART STEAL ALERT*** hey kids. wanted to bring this to some attention and was hoping this could get shared around. theres a targeted ad going around on Facebook for a website called Cool Shirt Designs. theyre a small company that goes around and takes art from around the internet and sells it on shirts for a “limited” time (there is a countdown on each shirt, but it restarts every time the counter runs out). they have currently taken two of mine, and one of @spencejsmith‘s designs, and put them up for sale without our permission, and if you are an artist on tumblr or have put up any art on any print-to-order sites (like redbubble), they could possibly have yours too. their only guideline for taking down art is if you have an official copyright for your work, which takes months to acquire and costs money. so, im asking to PLEASE never ever order from this website, and if you ever see them pop up on your Facebook wall, to remind them how horrible they are. instead, you can buy MY fall out boy and panic! t-shirts HERE. and @spencejsmith‘s design HERE. for cheaper too! NEVER BUY FROM “COOL SHIRT DESIGNS”. THEY SHIT.
I really debated whether or not to bother responding to this, but the ageist shit and rudeness bothered me enough to do so. (keeping the OP’s url out of this cuz I’m not trying to send anyone hate anons.)
So. You’re upset that I’m a year younger than Brendon himself and still a fan of his band that I’ve been a fan of since I was 16? Seriously? And I’m not sure what you’re referring to when you say “sexual comments about Dallon,” but if I did say something you found inappropriate, first of all a) I’m an adult, b) he’s an adult, c) there isn’t a big age difference between us and d) he’s a fucking gorgeous man. What, do you expect me to say “Oh what a dashing handsome man! Would not dare to think of anything sexual or untoward in regards to this married man! Pip pip!” Come on! Meanwhile there are literal /children/ in this fanbase who call him “daddy” in a sexual way, make explicit sexual comments to him on Twitter, and write some of the most sexually graphic and explicit fan fiction I’ve personally seen…. but I’M the gross one.. or whatever it is you’re trying to imply. Let’s not even get started on all the minors (and adult fans) who sexualize Brendon to no end…
And as far as my dislike for “Beebo” goes, this is my blog… I said it’s a stupid nickname and that it annoys the shit out of me… I am by NO MEANS the only person who feels this way, but that is my personal opinion, not an attack. I’m very much allowed to express my opinion on stupid/obnoxious nicknames on my personal blog, that’s what people DO here. Gosh.
These are some of the most childish and shallow reasons to dislike someone I’ve ever seen. You literally don’t know me at all and have never made any attempt to so PLEASE stop judging me and talking about me unfavorably on your blog just because I’m still a fan after all these years (an OG fan,) EVEN though I’m getting close to 30! Just like Brendon! How crazy! I must be the only Panic! fan who is the band’s age! 🙄
And idk how old you are, but it’s pretty goddamn shitty of a younger fan to go around and talk shit about a dedicated, OG fan just because they happen to be older than you (yet still younger than the band members themselves.) I’ve seen SO many young fans doing this. I mean.. You do realize the fanbase is gonna age, right? It’s not always going to be new kids discovering Panic! Us fans in our 20s will continue to be fans into our 30s and on. We grew up with Panic! in our lives for nearly 11 years and we’re not just gonna bail now because the newer/younger fans are for some reason perturbed by the fact that there are older/age-appropriate fans who have been around since the band started… That’s real shitty and weird. We really don’t deserve that.
Not that it really matters, but @snarkatthedisco @samanthaangel, @falloutjerks and I are all in our mid to later 20s and between us all have met or talked to or hung out with the Panic! guys more than 20 times (at various kinds of events.) That’s not just because of luck either, believe it or not. Age is a huge factor.
So just don’t be a dick to or about older fans. We’re not being dicks to you… at least I’M sure not. Please stop talking about me.
And to ALL Younger PATD fans: PLEASE don’t be elitist and act like you somehow have more right to be a fan of this band than the older, longstanding, same-age-as-the-band (+ older) fans do. It’s incredibly rude.
Agree with this 100%. I was introduced to Panic! via a Fueled By Ramen sampler CD my friend got at a show in February or March of 2005. So I’ve been a fan for 11 years. Before they even started recording their first album. I graduated high school the same year as Brendon. I’m just going to assume a lot of the negativity directed at older fans (especially those of us who have been around for a decade) is primarily driven by jealousy and the general insecurity that comes with being too young.
For the record, there is no age limit on music or concerts. The only time shows are restricted it’s to keep those who are too young out. Not to mention after parties and most events that will be filmed. So you go ahead and whine about how I’m old. I’ll be chiling in a bar with my ancient friends and the band and/or crew after the show.
Music is always a healer. Music has never let me down. I know it’s my religion. There’s the idea that you can’t truly know happiness until you know sadness, so how can you heal yourself unless you’ve hurt yourself? I’m still figuring out who I am, but I know that I’m not who I was.
Brendon Urie on Periscope & his fans for Blunt Magazine (via dallonsmiles)
Apparently Brendon missed the memo about how much he hates his fans.
okay but have we ever actually appreciated how amazing and special brendon is?
here is this straight man who isn’t afraid of admitting he’s experimented multiple times with men, who isn’t afraid of saying he finds men attractive, who doesn’t give a fuck or even think twice about wearing heels or doing traditionally feminine things, who cried after gay marriage was legalized, who is comfortable with his sexuality and likes breaking gender norms and that is such an important thing
hate brendon or love him this is such a rare thing and it can really mean a lot for people who don’t fit gender norms or are struggling with accepting themselves, he gives no fucks and we need more people like that
codyblackout @brendonurie found some heels after his interview at @kroq was done and proceeded to take a few pics. @panicatthedisco @radiodotcom #kroq #panicatthedisco #brendonurie
i’m too old to call brendon “beebo” i’ve been in this fandom for too long
in ~the good ol days~ we used to call him bden

“Brendon channels Sinatra for Frank’s 100th birthday”
This is making me tear up he sounds so incredible!
I almost started crying while he was singing this and the girls next to me were looking at me like I was insane for singing along.
Brendon had absolutely no voice at the meet and greet before the show. None. He tried to talk to me (about the Santa hats I brought, whispered in my ear during our picture, and geeked out and tried to answer when I asked if he was going to sing Frank on Frank's birthday) and it sounded painful and awful. I don't know what kind of black magic ritual he did before they went on stage but he was miraculously able to sing beautifully.
