Do you think Ren really loved Akira? He certainly did, and what do you think about the similarities between Akira, and the God we see on the flashback of the first banquet?

C[Potential Spoiler Commentary] I hesitate to call Ren’s feelings “love” because of their destructive quality. I believe she was more obsessed with Akira, Akira’s power, Akira’s influence, and the attention Akira paid to her. Even Shigure calls her actions obsessive.

We don’t know too much about Ren’s past, but we do know that she was of a lower class and a maid in the Sohma household. Her mostly unknown background was intentional. In an author’s note in Chapter 121, Takaya says “I wanted to give the impression that her identity is unknown. An impression like… she’s not really human. She’s a ‘spirit.’”

Most likely, she never had much power and was often overlooked in favor of others in a higher position. Because of her relationship with Akira, she now had money, power, servants, and the attention of a beautiful and gentle man like Akira. Without his attention, she is nothing. She is fixated on the idea that the only person Akira could and should ever love was herself. She even goes as far as saying that the only person who deserves to touch his things is herself. This doesn’t seem protective, just possessive and obsessive.

While she constantly says that she was the only good thing in Akira’s lifeshe was the only one who could “save him,” and that she was the only thing that existed in his world, I think she is projecting her own feelings onto him. Akira “saved her” from her previous life, he was the only good thing in her world… Without himshe was nothing, a nobody, not important. But for Ren, she needs the feeling of being loved and cherished. She needs to believe it was the other way around.

Because of her obsession with feeling loved, she was jealous of AkitoShe refused to carry the baby if it was not raised as a boy; she felt like this might still keep her as the top woman in Akira’s life, though she was wrong.

Her frightening behavior doesn’t sound like love to me, or at least a healthy love. In the beginning, she did treat Akira with kindness that brought him out of his loneliness. But instead of helping him build good and lasting relationships with other people too, she was selfish and wanted to keep him all to herself. That makes me think that she didn’t care so much about Akira’s needs and his loneliness, but her own fears and loneliness. This ties back to the “spirit” reference by Takaya. Spirits have no real form, no substance all by themselves. Ren is always searching for substance and meaning to put into her life through Akira.

As for the Akira and the original god, I never saw much of a connection between their personalities. In the old story, the god was selfish with his animals, and showed a rash temper when he banished the cat from the banquet. Akito describes her father as kind, affectionate and always smiling. We can assume he upheld the role of the head of the family, but he seems to have a softer, quieter personality as a whole.

this is what I found it from its this

What an autistic person says: "How long is it going to take?"

What they mean: "I want to know whether to activate my short term waiting mode where I just wait and do nothing else, or activate my long term waiting mode where I occupy my mind with something else. I fully understand that both are possibilities, and I have no problem whatsoever with either one, but I want more information so I can best adapt to the situation."

What neurotypical people hear: "I am impatient and demand that everything I want happen right now. Please scold me and publicly humiliate me for it."

“Do yourself a favor and learn how to walk away. When a connection starts to fade, learn how to let it go. When a person starts to mistreat you, learn how to move on … to something and someone better. Don’t waste your energy trying to force something that isn’t meant to be.”

Thanks for the ask! Sorry it took so long to answer.

It’s not as clear in the English version, but that is indeed Roxas calling out to Xion through Sora:

KH2: Naminé name pun

I was replaying KH2 recently, switching between the Japanese and English versions to see what differences and similarities I could spot, and this came up when Sora is reading the “Future Story” part of the book in Yen Sid’s Tower. A lovely little pun on Naminé’s name that very nicely alludes to the ending of Chain of Memories/beginning of KH2:

one thing about Kimetsu no Yaiba I like is the fact that Tanjiro is not the chosen one.despite the fact that Tanjiro can use the one sun breathing technique he himself is not that special hes just a regular coal farmer the sun like scar on his forehead may of seemed like a breathing mark but it was later revealed that his scar came from when he was protecting his younger brother from a falling pot of boiling water.

His family are not chosen ones they were people who were entrusted to learn this technique.

muchiro tokito would be considered the chosen one since he had a lot of talent and hes realted to the sun breather ancestor. But he isnt the story doesn’t make a big deal about it.

Tanjiros greatest strength is his kindness, which has been displayed many times in the series which is one of kimetsu no yaibas core themes, kindness

Sumire and Nene

Edit: I made a smol follow up to this. Still stand by this prediction tho 😀👍

I’m writing this because I’m mildly frustrated with how hard the fandom slept on Sumire’s character, and also because I want to place my bet before 93’s release about where they’re heading with her character in regards to hananene and supernatural-human relationships (if I’m wrong, I will casually brush this under a carpet and deny any allegations).

Okay let’s go back to the Sumire arc, to that tea spilling scene. Before this they were so adorable, like a couple of domestic koalas, and Nene approached him with such a sweet little blush holding that tray with two teacups.

And then this scene induces such a taut pause. I’m impressed with how elegantly Aidairo just slipped this in, it so subtly highlighted their growing communication issues. He only spilled one cup– she could have drank the other alone, but she clearly wanted to drink together with him. And teatime is so important for these two: we see throughout the manga (ch3, donuts, etc) that she always brings some tea to share with him.
