Tumbling LeFox

@sezja / sezja.tumblr.com

32, she/her, oriented aroace. Currently hyperfixating hard on FFXIV's BRD quest NPCs.

Fox: A Summary

  • You can call me Fox! Or Sezja. Whatever's easiest for you. No, neither of them are my real name, though my friends irl do in fact call me "Fox," and my partner's cats recognize that name.
  • I'm in my 30s, and have been writing and posting fanfiction since I was... 10? 11? It's been a while; my god, it's been a while.
  • I'm an aroace lesbian, and I use the term "queer" happily and freely. I am queer; I will not tag it "q slur" in posts unless it is actively being used as a slur (and frankly, I'm not likely to reblog posts like that).
  • Dating @lesenbyan. <3
  • I'm cis...ish (my ideal body type is nine feet tall and encased in stone or armor with no sex organs to speak of, but until science makes that a possibility, I will settle for being considered a woman), but aggressively trans-friendly.
  • Also bi-friendly, disability-friendly (I am disabled!), polyamory-friendly... the list goes on. We respect people here, sir.
  • I don't respond to anon hate. Unless I think it's funny.
  • I don't usually follow back. Do not follow me if you're only looking for mutuals. I tend to follow back only if you're engaging with my content on a regular basis, chatting with me, etc., and I like your blog content. I don't collect mutuals; I try to keep my following count below 200 so my dash doesn't get cluttered. It's not personal. I probably still click through your blog sometimes.
  • My inbox is always open for questions, headcanons, thoughts, etc.!

You're probably here for my FFXIV bard boys fics! I regret to inform you that at this time I do not have a comprehensive list of ficlets and drabbles and whatnot for you to peruse, but I do have the my writing tag, which is largely... Them, at least stretching back for the last year or so. Also, important: I always write Sanson Smyth as a trans man, and both Guydelot and Sanson are bisexual. Them's the rules.

FFXIV Things:

  • I'm on Crystal! My home world is Goblin, but I have alts on Mateus, Zalera, and Coeurl.
  • My main is Urha'to Nelhah on Goblin; I main MCH.
  • My usual play time is about 2:45pm - 6:00pm CST, but Sundays I can be online anytime after 2am.
  • I tend to be waaaay behind everyone else in new MSQ content; my time is limited and I play alongside my partner, so we have to factor both of our time and energy levels in; don't be surprised if I'm usually two weeks behind everyone else! Do not give me spoilers for content I haven't gotten to yet.

Friendly reminder

I post memes because I, like everyone else here, wanna talk about my characters. If you don’t wanna send me anything, then reblog from the source, not me. Ty.

Honestly never considered this before, but that’s a reasonable policy.

If I reblog a meme/prompt from someone, I try to send them a prompt.

If I can’t send them a prompt for whatever reason but still want to do the meme, I try to go back to the source blog if available, or as far back as I can go, or I don’t reblog it now and draft it instead until I have time and spoons to find a question/prompt for the person I’m getting it from.

Sometimes, when I can, I’ll also try to look at who reblogged from me and send them Asks, too.

If you want interactions on your blogs? Give interactions to others! People notice and remember and check your stuff out!

And folks also notice and start to remember who always takes and never gives back.

This is a social blogging site. Try to be social.

I do genuinely believe that the Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (and arguably the Zelda franchise as a whole, though i myself have played literally none of these games) is closer to fitting the description of ‘Tolkien-esque Fantasy’ than most other movies/shows/games/books etc that claim that label

Like, compare this post by tumblr user wufflesvetinari, which makes an important point about Tolkien’s worldbuilding, and also lives in my head rent free:

and then these quotes from Jacob Geller’s “Every Zelda is the Darkest Zelda”

and his conclusions about the messages in Zelda games are thematically very similar to the through-lines about friendship and love in LOTR, and what a lot of authors miss about what makes a fantasy story personal and memorable:

“A world without joy and humor isn’t a compelling world to fight for” is exactly why there are so many pieces of fantasy media out there that just feel like carbon copies of each other (i’ve seen many posts that explain this better than I can though I can’t find any specific ones at the moment, just know that I didn’t invent this thesis). You’ve got the cool swords, you’ve got the wizards and the spells and the battles, but first and foremost you need the LOVE.

as much as i appreciate the increased usage of they/them pronouns as a non binary person that uses those pronouns, y'all need to also understand that using they/them on someone who does not use they/them is still misgendering

Using they/them for someone whose gender/pronouns you’re unsure of: good; doesn’t make assumptions; more concise and inclusive than the dreaded “he or she.” not misgendering

Using they/them for someone who has already told you their gender/pronouns (and doesn’t use they/them): not good; ignores their implicit/explicit wishes; often used as an ‘out’ by closet transphobes to avoid referring to a binary trans person with their preferred pronouns while still appearing ‘woke.’ this is misgendering

Not a mufasa origin story

This is blatant revisionism of the Lion King canon. Mufasa was born the eldest son of Ahadi, himself the son of Mohatu, both kings of Pride Rock, and Mufasa directly quotes Ahadi in explaining that the past kings live on in the stars. Zazu states that Simba and Nala's betrothal is part of a tradition going back "generations," further establishing that this kingdom is not new, which it would have had to be if Mufasa founded it. Scar's entire claim to the throne rests on him being the younger brother of the king, a claim which would only hold legitimacy if there had been a previous king to father him.

This brazen defilement of the Lion King lore is, without a doubt, the worst thing Disney has ever done as a company.

WAIT IF MUFASA WAS BORN AN ORPHAN HOW THE FUCK IS SCAR HIS BROTHER

Born an orphan. Neither one of his parents shows up for this birth
