“Fan fiction is a way of the culture repairing the damage done in a system where contemporary myths are owned by corporations instead of by the folk.”
The idea of dragons in modern times is so fun because imagine a hot summer day on your vacay and go to use the hotel pool and staff is like “valued guests we regret to inform you that the pool area is out of service at the moment, we apologize for the inconvenience”
And people like “wtf why” looking out their hotel room window and there’s this. This dragon just curled up in the pool chilling, literally, cooling itself down
Some of the staff are trying to gently shoo him away and the dragon does a soft little “rrrrrr” like a grumpy cat and a warning puff of smoke and they’re like “fuck it i don’t get paid nearly enough for this” and no ones using the pool today sorry!
You placed a rectangle on a flat surface, you have completed the summoning ritual. Congratulations! Your spell was successful!
I am happy to report there are multiple updates on this lovely person’s TikTok! They adopted the kitty and, with the help of a vet, he is looking SIGNIFICANTLY less scrunkly 🤣
I like to think that Commander Cody took one look at The Bad Batch and one look at the 501st and made it his creed to NEVER have them meet unless absolutely necessary. For his own mental health, Cody kept the two chaos groups from meeting because therein lies dragons and mounds and mounds and MOUNDS of paperwork.
I started rewatching TBB tonight (for the first time in 10 months I know hard to believe 🤪) and I just can’t get over how incredibly good the pilot episode is?? Like, sorry if you don’t think the same but I was filled with such pure, unadulterated joy almost the entire time (the times when I wasn’t being when Pain™ was happening onscreen). That episode just goes so incredibly hard. It really gave us the fall of the Republic, rise of the Empire, the Boys having to make difficult decisions, countless war crimes, a family being divided, desertion, and a bunch of dudes adopting a whole child all in 75 minutes of television. In my most humble opinion, it is peak. 🤌🏻
Original trilogy explaining Vader, Obi-Wan, and the twins' origins like huh that's fucked up. Prequels explaining it and throwing in Padmé like damn that is fucked up!!
