Now I’m just a cryptid (hate that)// Simi (she/her)// autistic// way over 18// writer // Cats the Musical is my jam

A series of events:

1. I put in an Annual Leave request form almost 3 weeks ago and my boss has not approved it yet

2. I went into my office today and replaced every single writing utensil with crayons in preparation for April Fools Day on Monday

3. Whilst searching for pens to remove, I found my unsigned Annual Leave form in my boss’s drawer

4. I placed my unsigned Annual Leave form in a photo frame and put it on his desk

5. The frame I used was from a photo of his kids that I deemed less important than my Leave form

6. My boss sometimes goes into the office on Saturdays to work

7.

Happy 2 year anniversary to the post that my old boss allegedly now has framed in his office, next to the recovered photo of his children.

I can't believe it. Leo, when will love be enough? 🥺

Today, August 31, the original reddit poster updated their graph!

Now including even MORE information.

The notes on this are fascinating look at how many people struggle to understand that multiple things can be true at the same time. Leo's behaviour is 1) legal 2) creepy 3) part of a wider societal issue and 4) at worst predatory and at best a red flag large enough to be seen from space.

last week i was chatting with one of my coworkers about the restaurants in the area and he mentioned there's a place with amazing churros that he orders lunch from sometimes and i kinda laughed and said i've never had a churro but i've always wanted to try one because they look so fantastically decadent and i kinda joked that it's on my bucket list because every time i walk by a place that sells churros i think i should buy one but then i don't

i just came back to my desk after feeling really frustrated by an instrument in the lab that broke and ruined my data for the day, and found a churro wrapped in tinfoil with a sticky note on it that said "bucket list: ☑️ churro" and i'm

i'm seriously gonna cry i had such a shit day all of my data got so fucked up and i had to spend like an hour reformatting my excel sheet but this simple kind gesture made the whole day less bad

nothing worse than when the premise of something captivates you but then it sucks ass. bro you put this idea out into the world and you didn't even do it a shred of justice

I've always wanted to write a book dedication "To all the authors whose ideas inspired me to write, and whose execution inspired me to edit"

learning about a piece of media exclusively through tumblr posts is really funny because you'll probably get the wrong idea about the show in one of four very specific ways

  1. Thinking something fun and light-hearted is a deathly serious social commentary
  2. Thinking something dark or disturbing is actually a wacky comedy
  3. Thinking something with no gay people is actually gay
  4. Thinking something with gay people is homophobic

examples per the notes:

Fun, light-hearted series pitched as deathly serious

Dark or disturbing series pitched as wacky comedy

Series with no gay people pitched as gay

Series that does have gay characters and everyone talks about it like it's extremely homophobic

when dealing with mosquitos do you:

  1. leave them alone and let them hang out around in ur room (normal)
  2. trap them with a cup and a sheet of paper and put them outside (mostly normal)
  3. slap them in the air or on your skin (sure)
  4. hit them while theyre on the wall or a piece of furniture so it leaves a stain (absolutely fucking deranged)

ABSOLUTELY love these tags I respect this person so much

You can tell OP has never lived in an area infested in mosquitoes, those assholes suck to the highest degree

Plot twist, OP is an alien researcher attempting to gather information and wildly misinterpreting humanity’s reactions

OP this you?

baby me, sorting m&ms by color and then into a gradient: now this is how you have fun!

I reblogged this clean for other people but story time:

My High School Sweetheart and I were at his pool with his family for Fourth of July. His dad (affectionately referred to as Dad Guy) set a bowl of m&ms in front of me and said something akin to “have at” (mind you, this was almost a decade ago now, exact quotes are difficult)

I sorted them. I was having the time of my life. I’d almost finished.

And he SHOOK THE BOWL.

Needless to say I had a bit of a meltdown 😂 I’ve blocked the rest of the memory out now but good golly we should have known I was autistic WAY before 2016.

“oh we don’t wanna consume problematic media–” i unironically think everyone should consume problematic media at some point in their life. obviously not to say that people should monetarily support hp or aot or that, but i think it teaches you critical thinking skills when you say “yeah, objectively kingdom hearts has a lot of issues with the writing of their female characters” instead of “if you play kingdom hearts you’re a sexist”, you know?

if the only thing you consume is cookie-cutter “good“ than how are you going to act when something bad happens irl? when you do something bad irl? what do you do when your favorite Pure media suddenly a Not Good??? cause that’s the thing, NOTHING is perfect. NOTHING and NO ONE. we’re all flawed people and the stuff we create is going to be flawed and that’s what makes us human. stop trying to be perfect, it’s literally impossible, and learn how to say “this thing has problems and i’m willing to look at and discuss them, but it’s also something i enjoy and i am going to also celebrate the good”
