Mixed reply post, because tumblr keeps eating my replies and will not let me speak to people.
@achonartist - We still have plans for the legacy campaign! I may adapt Wild Beyond Witchlight because both the Carnival and the Feywild are elements in the homebrew world.
Currently I have plans for the legacy campaign as well as a MANY years in the future epic level campaign (think like 80+ years, Ireena + most of their NPCs are dead, all their kids have grown up, the characters are at a point where the city they’ve built is so different they feel like outsiders). I’m gonna leave it up to my remaining players as to which direction we go, because honestly both are exciting concepts to me. Ellerian’s player has informed me that he wants to do both, at least (a legacy campaign, then a timeskip epic campaign afterwards).
What we may wind up doing for the legacy campaign is opening it up to 1-2 more players online from somewhere. 4 players felt perfect, but we’re down to 3 now. I don’t want to throw a new player into a level 20 homebrew campaign where they have 0 attachment to the world or the characters, so the legacy campaign gives me an opportunity to bring someone new in where they can form their own attachments.
(I don’t have many friends I think would like this style of campaign tbh so I’d probably ask here first if anyone wants to join. Might ask on Reddit, too, but I feel like I’d get more crunchy-mechanics-loving players there and I’d much rather get someone who likes heavy RP).
@thrumbolt Yeah, I made those Undertale pictures like 6 (almost 7 now) years ago haha. I have a suspicion that one of the reasons they became so widespread is actually because I wasn’t restrictive with their use. I think had I told people to ask permission before reposting, had I signed it, had I sold them instead of allowing their free use they would not have been as widely used as they were. I had an art director once at EA who knew of these pictures and had the same response!
That is not to blame anyone that restricts their work btw. I don’t make my living posting artwork online. Someone using my art without permission does not impact me the way it does an artist that relies on commissions to make rent.
Designs for some upcoming fights in my D&D campaign.
The top is simply the Collector, titan “father” of the cadaver collectors that gather corpses for the Twilight Lord. An extinct race of builder giants, it uses its backwards-facing metallic ‘wings’ to crush and fuse bodies, souls, and cold iron to create powerful necroplate, which it then forges into the cadaver collectors.
The bottom is the prophet. A collection of powerful diviners souls fused into the remnants of a celestial being, it looks to its halo of cards to fend off intruders and assist the Twilight Lord.
Here’s a small compilation post of all the Undertale boss paintings I’ve done!
Also, as promised – here is the HIGH-RES album. All of the images are 1920 x 1080 pngs, available for free use as icons, wallpapers, your own personal prints, youtube thumbnails – whatever you want. I would appreciate credit if you repost it/use it anywhere else online!
Please do not sell these.
Undertale Heritage Post
this is blowing up again, and it makes me 2 parts happy that apparently these images had such an impact on people, 1 part mixed that most people have no idea that they were all done by me, and 1 part mad to hear that these are still being routinely stolen and sold.
In the years since I’ve made these, I have made $0 from them. That’s intentional. I’m not mad at the fact that there’s folks out there who have made more money off of these than I ever have -- I’m more mad at the duplicity inherent behind it.
Anyway I don’t want to get negative about these. I’m still extremely happy with them. On one hand, it’d be great if people knew I made them -- but on the other hand, it’s kind of nice to not be known for one thing. It just gets to be a fun fact.
Speaking of fun facts, because this is ALSO an image that comes up constantly as “oh wait you did that?” -- I did this one too:
It came from an ask. I did not realize how popular (and stolen) it was until I posted a redraw on Twitter (also available here). i beg of you if you’re gonna steal this one please use the redraw because the old one causes me psychic pain.
anyway apologies this is my yearly undertale rant back to my absurdly niche D&D campaign shipping fanart
context of last post (i.e. another ‘What’s Happening in your D&D campaign?’) post.
- The party made it out of Twilight Woods, reunited with their families, and then decided to go ahead and do what they were asked to do in the first place: kill the queen of a neighboring country.
the druid of Twilight Woods is dead.
Some iteration on the designs of the characters from those fake anime screenshots.
Pretty much redesigned the elf general to less resemble his source material, and considered going with long hair for the protagonist, but found I liked shorter hair better. Maybe long hair was a backstory thing. Also -- I tried a poncho. Because they’re cool.
Hey sorry if this is something you’ve answered before, but do you do commissions? My dm is looking to commission some landscapes for an upcoming campaign. Totally get it if you don’t, just wanted to ask.
Ah sorry for taking so long to respond to this!
Sadly, I don't accept commissions at this time. Are there any artists who follow me that potentially are? I can update this post with links if folks would want.
I have no idea when (or if) I'll open up commissions because in spite of working a professional job I am allergic to accepting money.
Edit - Some folks available:
Artfight 2022! 🌱🌼
In order these characters belong to:
Kjosev - @palidoozy-art
Nine - @shrugsinchinese
Adda - aidinera on DeviantArt
he didn’t lose a hand, per say, but his arm got horribly damaged against Escher.
i don’t know why, but i have gone ahead and created a small shitty comic summarizing how the entire fight went
they got back home again. :)
Artfight Attacks , second and final batch!
Final art fight pictures!
My goal for my first art fight was to make sure everyone who attacked got at least SOMETHING for their time. I had a lot to catch up on... so I made them tokens instead. I actually kind of like ‘em and might do this next year. :)
In order:
Ven, from @alouissever (profile)
Sawyer, from LumiLuz (profile)
Beipa, from @nakakabaliw (profile)
Rareș, from Penstrokes (profile)
Mercury, from @krzaku-art (profile)
If you want to check out the art folks did that I haven’t reblogged, check out some of my defenses here. :)
It was a fun experience! I only regret not being able to polish more. But I did a lot. And I wish I could do more. Y’all have some fun characters!
variety contextless sketch dump and some tokens. The party made a new black dragon friend named Agaricus. Kind of.
Campaign update below, because people seem to like hearing it.
Last session, in which: the party reunites with Kelogul, has many special guests, and a mushroom man gets dressed up like Strahd. Also actual Strahd makes a cameo appearance but that’s not as important.
Some art fights over the past two weeks! I still have some revenges to get back to, but I’ve definitely had to slow down a bit, haha. Still, it’s been a lot of fun. :)
In order, these characters belong to the following:
Magnus - ClareAnn - Challenge her here!
Cassiope and Clemente - @boundtoanandroid - Challenge him here!
Dara - @viperfishy - Challenge her here!
Flower Beebs (Hydrangea, Allium, Chinese Lantern) - @biolumenisce - Challenge them here!
I can’t promise I’ll be particularly fast about getting revenge, but as always, if you wish to ruin me you may challenge me here! Also go look at the defenses, there’s been a ton of people drawing lots of cool stuff. :)
