i feel like a lot of people would be more normal if they watched media for adults *remembers how those people act when a kids show protagonist has character flaws and imagines how they'd react to a grown-up show* uh i mean um good news i hear theyre bringing back little einsteins

extremely fucking weird to have to convince leftists that fighting for a better public education system & better wages for teachers is not, like, the Lame Establishment Dem take or whatever.

It is not Cool and Radical to advocate for the dissolution of the entire public education system in favor of Everyone Doing Their Own Thing. what you're describing is libertarianism, and a system that directly and dramatically benefits fascist right-wingers and child abusers.

the community-centered child rearing yall love to talk about exists. it desperately needs to be improved, but the bones are here, and they're already doing a lot of legwork in the fight against aggressive nuclear family isolation.

it's called public school, you fucking dweeb.

its so bizzare that increased awareness about anxiety has led to “that makes me uncomfy/scared” being an injunction to stop someone else just going abt their life and not a realisation that these things are just feelings and sometimes our feelings are completely discordant with the level of danger were in. like “sometimes i feel threatened when im actually not” should be grounds to interrogate disgust etc not the other way arnd

i love it when people are obsessed with their wives. it’s like yeah that’s literally what you’re supposed to do

we’re not saying it’s a gay disease but we’re indexing it to gay people hey why are you making that face

this is a disease that is not limited to gay men or high risk sexual activity between them but we’re only looking at gay men no reason also why are we missing important epidemiological data it’s such a mystery!

Whoever created United for Clean Power laid the digital groundwork for pop-up campaigns like this years ago in case they ever needed a climate-focused brand to utilize. Several readers flagged for us that the group ran some type of campaign in an Ohio state legislative race years ago, spent several thousand dollars in an Oklahoma State Senate campaign, and received money from a now-defunct right-wing dark money group in 2015. In November 2020, they ran YouTube ads backing a spoiler Green-party candidate in a competitive Oregon State Senate race, whose candidacy ultimately cost the Democratic nominee the election.

FWIW was able to locate the organization’s 2018 and 2019 IRS 990 forms, which reveal the organization’s only major expenditure was to pay Republican firm Majority Strategies $135,000 for “advertising.”

Right-wing astroturf is everywhere.

like when people try to learn your hobbies or try to play the same sports that you play in an effort to get closer to you, people who try to love you the way you love people, people who will go to places you want to visit just for your sake, people remembering, putting in an effort. just. trying

Worst little cunts on this site by far are those who respond to complaints about mundanely shitty behavior like “I can’t stand when people don’t put their grocery carts back” with “um did you know that .000001% of the world’s population has terminal Can’t Put Grocery Carts Back Disease maybe think before you post”
