black and orange might b the classic Halloween colors but let us not forget purple and pale turquoise they are 100% as ghastly and ghoulish

The thing is the colors of Halloween are all of the colors. You’ll see Halloween promotions like “we made our milkshakes GREEN!!! Spooky!!” or entire product lines where it’s all red because that’s like gothic vampire stuff or devilish. Blue motifs for haunted mansions, white ghosts and bones and ivory, pink guts and blob monsters, Halloween just celebrates every possible color palette and aesthetic.

nothing better than a character who has all the signs of being deeply traumatized by a formative event somewhere in childhood except when you look at their life there's no traumatic event to speak of. guy whose entire existence points backwards to some horrible original sin but when you get to the beginning theres nothing there. did they forget what happened to them or is it the absence of a happening that is itself traumatizing? who knows but they'll never stop searching for something that explains how they feel :)

thinking about a related if almost polar opposite type of guy where its like. oh baby everyone knows EXACTLY what happened to you. you know what happened to you and the thing you want most in the world is to un-know it. your brain is doing backflips trying to protect you from knowing what happened to you. you are putting on an elaborate play over top of reality so that you don’t have to face the thing that happened to you. you are ignoring patterns and signs and familiar faces. but it still happened to you and your body knows it even if you can't look directly at it, even if you're doing elaborate choreography to dance around it. guy who is trying to change the past by sheer force of willpower and failing miserably because it can never be anything other than exactly what it was

altho i do think if you really believe in yourself these two things can be true simultaneously. it’s like playing hide and seek with an opponent that turns out to also be you : )
