Voting for Green doesn’t stop Labor from winning seats if you put Labor 2nd. Preferences are counted to find a winner unless there’s an outright winner with 1st preferences, and if Liberals win with more than 51% of first preference votes then it wouldn’t have mattered if you had put Labor first or voted for a garbage nonsense micro-party no one’s ever heard of. They would’ve won no matter what. Labor wins off the back of Greens preferences, but Greens rely on the electoral funding from those 1st preferences to actually conduct party business/campaigns (which they really need because unlike Liberal/Labor they don’t take donations from mining/coal). So yeah it’s super important to put Greens first, Labor 2nd, and then tell everyone you know to not vote Liberal.
