THIS POST IS FOR PEOPLE WHO CAN’T DECIDE IF IT’S WORTH INVESTING IN MASQUERADE KISS OR NOT

I’ve received a lot of questions from other people such as

“Is it worth it?”

“How many hearts do I need?”

“How do I use my hearts?”

So I decided to make a post about it and THAT IS ALL

(This is what convinced me to play it and I’m just sharing)

First of all: Voltage isn’t running independently, they have a head corporation that gives them orders so love choice can’t be deleted just like that. The probability that anyone who suggest to go against order will be fired is high.

But now when you give it some thought, is Love Choice really so much more expensive than a normal story?

Take a look at this edit.

Why is a 7 episodes pov 200 coins? Think about it, Voltage is trying their best to compromise. A brand new pov too at that. Have you seen what they charge you for his povs in other titles?

Someone said that the episodes in LC is shorter but I found the content more richer so it doesn’t matter, however since people claim that it’s equal to the content of one single ms, I’m going to do some screenshot recording if that’s necessary.

Still, quality before quantity.

I haven’t skipped a second in Masquerade Kiss so why would the length honestly matter?

Masquerade Kiss has a good ending, the story basically ends right there right then.

You don’t need to read more to find out what happens afterwards.

So for anyone that is considering to buy Kazuomi’s route but can’t decide, I’ll tell you this.

LC might seem like a ripoff from the outside but in the end it’s similar to the other titles. You get the full package, a story from beginning to the ending with no cliffhangers or unanswered questions.

If you’re a fan of Shun or Kyosuke, I highly recommend Kazuomi’s route.

Hiyori is NOT Protecting Ikuya

He’s in a seriously codependent relationship with Ikuya that is insanely unhealthy. It doesn’t matter if Ikuya is depressed or not. He’s hindering Ikuya’s growth.

He’s preventing him from having the opportunity to receive apologies and decide on his own whether or not he wants to accept them.

He’s preventing him from giving relays another try to see if he can grow out of the memories that trigger pain.

The absolute worst thing you can do for a person with depression is to coddle them and let them remain in their dark hole (speaking from my own experience with depression) and the BEST thing you can do is to let them know you’re there for them, and slowly encourage them to rejoin the land of neurotypicals when they’re ready.

Hiyori (who I’m guessing is also acting on abandonment issues, so he and Ikuya may be alike there) is treating Ikuya like a child, deciding what’s good for him and what’s not. Regardless of his own issues, it’s NEVER okay to block other people from trying to reach out to Ikuya. That is not protecting him, that is controlling, and not allowing him to grow through pain.

If you want examples of dealing well with a depressed person, see S1Ep12 or S2Ep12:

Have Rin and Haru always had the healthiest relationship? No, they haven’t, but they worked out their issues BECAUSE they care and support each other. For some of their problems, the issue was communication, so once they found a way to express their feelings so that the other could understand, that’s when they had tremendous growth. It was painful, but it strengthened their relationship and made them better people.

Hiyori is not allowing Ikuya the opportunity to break in a way that he can grow stronger from it. If you have helicopter parents, then you know what I mean, and Hiyori is probably triggering you in all the worst ways. It’s as if Ikuya fails, that’ll mean he fails, or if Ikuya makes up with his former teammates, then he won’t need Hiyori anymore. Both are valid fears, but controlling someone so that your fear does not come true, THAT is the issue that makes their current friendship codependent and unhealthy.

Ikuya needs a friend he can trust will be there for him if he breaks, not a “friend” that controls his environment to the point he’s no longer making any of his own decisions.

Does Hiyori have the opportunity to redeem himself? Of course he does. If he realizes what he’s doing and changes his controlling behavior and apologizes to the people he’s hurt, he’ll have absolutely redeemed himself, but I’m writing this in response to the people defending Hiyori’s current actions as “leave Hiyori alone, he’s just protecting Ikuya 2k18!”
