Nintendo really took one look at all the fans begging people to shut up about the Zonai and went “hold my beer” and I want to personally sue the devs for the mental and emotional damages that are about to be wrought on my psyche

also to clarify: I do not, and NEVER HAVE been bothered by the idea that the sequel might delve into the mysteries surrounding the Zonai; my issue stems entirely from the completely batshit theories and rumors surrounding the Zonai that the fanbase conjures up from almost nothing, which they run with like it’s canon. “the Zonai are the ancestors of the Twili and also the ancestors of the Gerudo and also the Wind Tribe from TMC (?????)” type of shit. like, these are the same people who think that piece of rock in that one shrine quest in BOTW is the Mirror of Twilight because they both happen to be round, or something.

and this is gonna amplify all of that by a hundredfold and I’m just not ready

I like to think that this happened at least once during his journey, while staying in Kakariko for the night, as the kids are so fond of Link.

I’d imagined the kids waking up in the middle of night one after the other and silently tip-toeing to Link’s bed, looking for cuddles, careful not to be spotted by Renado who would probably tell them not to disturb Link. 

And of course Link would be happy to comfort the kids, too.

So, with this idea in mind, I was able to draw this.

Midna from Twilight Princess is my all time favorite Zelda companion. I love everything about her. Her design, character, just everything.Here is a drawing of her. 

People kept asking or haven’t read the mural I made with my love and heart so here a mini elaboration. She ain’t a whale or a fish or a windfish in the same way windfish is, she’s literally a dream that took form, she looks the way she does and is still windfishes daughter because 1. Windfish is a deity and no one asks Greek or other mythological deities why they have hydras, minotaurs or otherwise different lookin kids, that’s what i get for tryna do soft worldbuilding for once :’/ and 2. Because that’s just the way she appeared to him in his dream u_u . She then gets born as a child to be able to get used to the physical realm at her own pace and can get used to having a body and develop a mind of her own, where body and mind grow together.

🍵💳🦩 Meet MIDNA. Her old-money family overseas may have paid her way into Hyrule, but she's not stupid. She's majoring in whatever... just here for a degree to bring back home, and she heard Econ was relatively easy. Her relationship with Zelda had a rocky start due to their polar opposite views on wealth: Zelda thought it morally reprehensible to flaunt your opulence, throw money at problems, and always be late. Midna saw Zelda's refusal to take advantage of her family's wealth as a waste of resources and performative at best. After some initial friction, they come to a mutual understanding and realize they're much more similar than they seem on the surface. Zelda learns to stop seeing her privilege as a burden, and Midna finds more worthwhile causes (like cancelling certain corrupt professors) to sink her wealth of money and resources into, rather than just coasting through university on her family's coin.
