truly what is it about people insisting that demon's souls is the Hardest of the souls games like people truly focus so much on the "you go to half health when you die!!" aspect when 1. you get a ring that essentially makes that mostly meaningless pretty much Immediately & 2. you eventually realize that being human is essentially just being embered where your Base health is your phantom amount & being human gives you an increase
when it comes to the actual enemies and bosses there really truly isn't anything that difficult throughout the game and a bunch of bosses are actually very gimmicky which i DO say positively. i think bosses having Mechanics really helps set a lot of demon's souls bosses apart from the rest of the series, but i would not call any of them particularly difficult
like it's maybe difficult if you're lower level & immediately try to go to harder areas but that's on you

we all know the later part of dark souls 1 is Rough but ive said it before & i'll say it again - duke's archives is genuinely one of the best zones in the game
it's a bit difficulty to navigate at first but it makes it interesting to explore & figure out. the aesthetic is great. the fake out with seath and then the entire section afterward is great. all in all just a great zone
