Out of respect for the Queen's funeral:
- GPs are closing
- Surgeries are cancelled
- Funerals for non royal citizens are cancelled
- Food banks are shut
- People are kicked from holiday parks and forced to find accommodation in a foreign place
- Protesters are getting arrested for holding signs
- Billions will be spent on the funeral whilst people freeze in their homes and children starve
I've only been looking into news articles and restrictions for five minutes... I'm sure there's much more.

If you're getting rid of something and you insist on it going in the garbage instead of to someone who needs it, you're a monster. How is that even a controversial statement?

UPS: *chucks a $300 piece of computer hardware from a moving vehicle to land in the middle of my driveway as I watch from my living room window, then takes off without ever coming to a complete stop; five minutes later, an email arrives in my inbox informing me that my parcel has been left at the door because the courier couldn’t find the requested no-contact dropoff location*
I want to emphasise that this is not a hypothetical scenario. It happened twenty-five minutes ago.
If it’s mail delivered by USPS not only will it be delivered to my mailbox or door but if my neighbor steals it or my landlord withholds it, or an abusive person in my life destroys it that’s mail tampering which is potentially punishable as a felony.
If FedEx doesn’t feel like walking to my door they drop it off on the driveway where it gets stolen and I get to spend the next 3 weeks waiting for a refund.
To clarify: slavery as "punishment for a crime" is legal across the US. These 5 states are voting on making it ACTUALLY illegal, even in prisons.
These are NOT the 5 states I'd have expected to be on the forefront of "make slavery actually really truly illegal" and it's a GOOD thing they're trying to do.
So go vote if you can.
