like, okay, the first kiss is always amazing; all passion and desire and it’s beautiful and usually spontaneous, but the second kiss, oh the second kiss is better. It’s the kiss where they have time to think it over, where they anticipate the next time they will run into each other. It’s the kiss that is all nerves and potential. It’s scarier than the first because now they are vulnerable and all emotions are heightened because they finally acknowledged that they WANTED to kiss for so long and now they have to dance around one another knowing what the other persons lips taste like, what their hands feel like running through their hair, and they long for it in a carnal way that they hadn’t even realized they could long for something. So when they finally get that second kiss, it’s heart-pounding, palms-sweating, full-of-promise and it is better than the first kiss.

Buckle Up, Buckaroos! Because I’m about to rec you one of my ALL-TIME FAVORITE DRARRY FICS! So some of you remember that a while back I got an Anon Ask asking about AU, I however at the time hadn’t read many AU’s but I have turned my life around since then and by doing so I have stumbled upon one of the most fantastic Drarry AU’s out there. It’s called Water, Water, Everywhere and hot damn is it hot and just mind blowing, literal fireworks exploding in my head while I was reading this Fic. So for starters it’s a 1920s speakeasy and Harry is the badass, sexy as hell, owner of said speak easy, can’t get much better than that, right? Well you are wrong because it gets so much better, with literally every paragraph in this fic it gets better and better. I started reading this fic going, ‘oh yeah, this is good’ to ‘what the actual hell is this perfection that has graced my eyeballs?!’ This fic also is my ALL-TIME FAVORITE when it comes to virgin!draco/first times. Honestly, one of the hottest most tender smut scenes I have ever had the privilege to read. And lord, Harry is so wicked, yet so tender and loving in this fic, that alone had my knickers dropping. Draco also struggles with internalized homophobia in this fic and Harry just has the most beautiful way of making Draco see that there is nothing wrong with two men being in love and it is one of the most beautiful things about this fic. This particular author, @julietsemophase, is also known for occasionally mentioning music that inspired/goes with the fic (as y’all know this is one of my favorite things an author can do) and in the case of this fic Juliet paired the song ‘Creep’ by Vintage Jukebox with it and it is FANTASTIC. Also just a warning I’ve been reading some of Juliets other works (and I will be reccing them in due time) and she has officially become one of my ALL-TIME FAVORITE AUTHORS so be prepared for many of her fics to be recced on this blog. She is a queen when it comes to Drarry AUs.

Harry Potter Characters that I will believe are canonically queer until JKR herself tells me otherwise.

Dean Thomas and Seamus Finnigan - idk about their individual sexualities but they’re a canon couple. Pretty sure JK said at one point that she considered making them canon, so they are. You can’t change my mind.

Luna Lovegood - pansexual. Luna doesn’t give two shits about your gender. If she likes you, she likes you. She probably feels about genitals the same way she feels about moles or birthmarks.

Draco Malfoy - gay. I’m about 105% sure that Draco only married a woman because his parents expected him to continue the Malfoy Bloodline. A belief that’s only furthered by the fact that his wife knew she would die at a young age and wanted a child before her passing. His parents gave him a hard enough time for marrying a woman that isn’t a racist, now imagine him getting with a dude that can’t even produce offspring. He hid, masked and repressed his sexuality probably his whole life.

Harry Potter - bisexual, although probably with a preference for women. Harry’s described people of both genders as good looking, attractive, handsome and/or beautiful. And then there was that weird tension and borderline obsession with Draco, especially in Half Blood Prince.

Sirius Black - gay. Unmarried, no children, no former girlfriends known. Also, his really “close” friendship with Remus. I imagine their relationship a lot like I would that of Dumbledore and Grindelwald. A heated on/off affair. Except over the course of multiple years.

Remus Lupin - bisexual. See above. Also, his actor at one point said he acted Remus like a “gay junkie.”

Gellert Grindelwald - ?. I strongly believe him and Dumbledore had some kind of heated affair during their time together, but I’m not sure if he actually returned Dumbledore’s feelings or if he was just using him or experimenting. And if he did return his feelings, he could be anything from gay to pan or bi.

Nymphadora Tonks - bisexual. I can’t really tell you why, I just got this feeling.

There’s more, I just can’t think of them atm.

About three and a half years ago, I promised my dear friend Gabby (aka @sprout2012) a Drarry ballet AU, inspired by one of our favourite DIY Draco’s, Jeppe Hansen. I never wrote it, though, as I got hung up on a plot issue. When my Wattpad followers reached 6K, however, I wanted to write a new fic to celebrate. When given the choice of what fic, they unanimously voted for a ballet story. I realised I could simplify the plot problem, and FINALLY sat down to write this story! I hope it was worth the wait ;)

I love you Harry thinks, stroking Hedwig's feathers down the back. He is eleven years old and though Hedwig is not a person, he loves her more than he can recall ever loving anyone. He knows he had parents, thinks he must’ve loved them, but they are gone and Hedwig is here. for the first time he is not alone.

I love you, Harry thinks, water in his mouth but air in his lungs as he scrambles to swim towards Ron. The lake is dark and mirky and though he’s not a very good swimmer, he knows he can be good enough to save Ron. He has to be. He is fourteen and though he can not say the words to Ron, You are my family, I love you, they are true just the same.

I loved you, Harry thinks, clutching the broken shards of the mirror that will not bring Sirius back. The tears blur his vision, droplets of blood sliding down his hand as he grips the sharp edges too tight. Harry is fifteen and the weight of his grief feels bigger than his heart. Dumbledore says love saved him, but it feels like it will break him.

I love you, Harry thinks, staring at his mother and father, at everyone he once cared about surrounding him. He doesn’t know how long the resurrection stone will work, how long they can stay with him, but he thinks if he is going to die at least it will not be alone. Love cannot save him, butat least it can comfort him.

I love you Harry thinks, heart clenching painfully as he looks at Malfoy sitting beside him in the Great Hall. Malfoy’s teacup is halfway to his mouth, a genuine laugh falling from his lips. Harry doesn’t quite understand it, doesn’t know how it happened, only knows its the truth.

“I love you,” Harry says two weeks later on their way to Transfiguration. The corridors are deserted and Harry’s voice cracks with the weight of the words he has never spoken out loud. Malfoy falters, his eyes flashing with surprise before he drops his books and fists his hands in the front of Harry’s school robes, pulling him in for a desperate kiss. 

I love you, Harry thinks again as Malfoy kisses him, I love you and I am not afraid.
