Any attempt to draw a rigid line around and between LGBTQ+ identities will ultimately fail. Lesbians can have complex relationships with gender that include androgyny or masculinity. The line between lesbian and bisexual/otherwise mspec or gay and bisexual/otherwise mspec can get blurred and some people find their home in the grey area. There are asexual people who have sex and aromantic people who date and attraction that isn't quite platonic or romantic. Different mspec labels overlap and that's okay. There are men who are women and women who are men and you can't quite separate the two. People who exist right between feminine man and trans woman, or masculine woman and trans man. Queerness is messy and that's what makes it beautiful, so why try to draw lines when we could let the colors bleed into one another?

Why should individual identities even matter then? Like why do they matter to you lot then? If we go according to this ‘let-colours-bleed-into-one-another’ logic, then eventually it should be all the same. It just makes no sense jesus.

This feels like it's being asked in bad faith, but just in case it isn't... the rainbow analogy is my favorite! You can't say for sure where red stops and orange begins, but the distinction matters to some people. And some people just want to say "I'm in the rainbow" whereas others might want to clarify "I'm blue." Labels are hard to control perfectly but they feel important to some people and that's okay. Just don't shit on other people because their labels aren't clear enough for you, you know?

@mozart-ella-sticks The point of labels is for ease of communication and identification. But more than one label can apply to one thing (ex: plant, tree, deciduous tree, oak tree, northern red oak tree) and different labels are useful depending on what it is you’re trying to identify (ex: tomatoes are botanically fruits but culinarily vegetables, so they’re fruits when we’re talking biology and vegetables when cooking). That’s always going to be inexact, but that’s okay, because they don’t need to be exact in order to work. We can accept that “what counts as bisexual” can be just as fuzzy as “what counts as a reptile” without eliminating the concepts altogether, since labels are tools for us to use.

A lot of people here are finding my comic and I'm really happy wow!!!

I have seen a buncha posts by younger teens on here about it, so I think it's probably important I say some things right off the bat:

1) I am a 30+ yo adult, and I try my best to be respectful to everyone! I am also an autistic cartoon-loving weirdo and I can get attached to anything from very adult media to pre-school shows. As such, I enjoy making all kinds of art for different audiences!

2) On that note, I do draw adult art sometimes (only of adult characters of course), but I try to keep it properly secluded on adult websites/spaces with the right filters.

3) and I only bring -that- up because while I draw n|s|f|w for some things I like/create/etc... I will NEVER draw any sexualized art of any character in Preeny Has to Repeat 6th Grade. I want everyone to be sure of that. I can't stop what other people do, but I won't be making any myself, nor do I ever want to for this comic.

I drew Preeny from @hamigakimomo ‘s webcomic, Preeny Has to Repeat 6th Grade! The comic is so cute and charming, and I just read it today and immediately had to draw Preeny because of how adorable she is!!

Makes me want to design a Preeny fan oc… seems like so much fun!
